Description
The 7DDT is the largest two-speed drive Digga builds on a 2.5" hex shaft and the top of the loader-mounted range. It brings 6,308 ft-lbs, a 48 inch ceiling in earth and the ability to shift ranges under load, which is the combination that makes large-diameter production drilling practical on a carrier rather than an excavator. Past this point the range moves to excavator drives on bigger shafts, because the machine runs out of stability before the drive runs out of capability.
| Specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Model | 7DDT |
| Drive type | Two speed, high flow |
| Torque at 3,000 PSI | 6,308 ft-lbs |
| Max torque at 3,500 PSI | 7,344 ft-lbs |
| Recommended flow | 10-36 GPM |
| Max pressure — do not exceed | 3,500 PSI at 27 GPM |
| Max flow — do not exceed | 53 GPM at 1,800 PSI |
| Max horsepower | 55 HP |
| Motor type | Orbital Geroler |
| Pressure relief valve | Included |
| Standard output shaft | 2.5" hex |
| Recommended auger bits | A6 / RC6 / DR6 |
| Max drilling diameter — earth | 48" |
| Max drilling diameter — clay / shale | 30" |
| Case drain | Required — hose supplied with the drive |
| HALO auger alignment | Optional — select it on this page |
| Carrier weight range | 4.5-8T (9,900-17,600 lbs) |
Every figure above is published by Digga for the 7DDT. Maximum drilling diameter depends on ground conditions and is a guide rather than a rating.
| Machine type | Mount packages on this page | What the package includes |
|---|---|---|
| Skid Steer / Compact Track Loader | Universal Quick Attach Frame Package, or Extension Frame (TPE) Package | Drive, 7 ft hoses, flush-face quick disconnects, universal skid steer mount and linkage |
| Excavator, 4.5-8T (9,900-17,600 lbs) | Single Pin Mount, or Double Pin Mount | Drive, excavator mount and linkage. Hoses and disconnects ordered separately so length matches your boom |
| Backhoe Loader | Backhoe Mount | Drive, backhoe cradle, linkage and pin |
Pin diameter varies by machine. Enter your make and model with the order and we confirm the mount against your boom before the package ships.
Fitment is decided by auxiliary hydraulic flow and by how the drive attaches to your machine — not by brand. The 7DDT needs at least 10 GPM to reach the torque published above.
| Fitment factor | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Auxiliary hydraulic flow | 10-36 GPM — 10 GPM minimum to reach rated torque |
| Circuit type | High flow auxiliary circuit; this is not a standard-flow drive |
| Circuit pressure | Rated for 3,500 PSI machines |
| Skid steer mount | Universal quick attach, included with the skid steer packages |
| Excavator mount | Single or double pin, included. Pin diameter confirmed against your machine before shipping |
| Backhoe mount | Cradle with linkage and pin, included with the backhoe package |
| Case drain | Required — hose supplied; your machine needs the return line available |
| Electrical | 12V for the shift solenoid, and for HALO if selected |
| Auger bits | Sold separately — A6, RC6 and DR6 bits with a 2.5" hex hub |
On a skid steer or compact track loader the package mounts on the universal quick attach interface used across these brands:
Everything needed to confirm fitment is on this page — add the 7DDT package to your cart to see delivered pricing for your address. Enter your machine make and model with the order and we check the mount before it ships, coming back to you only if something needs changing.
On delivery: inspect the crate before you sign for it. Note any damage on the bill of lading at the time of delivery — a clean signed bill of lading makes a carrier claim much harder to win. Photograph anything that looks wrong and email support@eskidsteer.com.
Low speed and high torque for large diameters and fracturable rock, where turning force decides whether the bit advances. High speed and low torque for small diameters, soft ground, and spinning spoil clear of the flights on the way out — which is where most of the time saving across a day actually shows up.
If the machine cannot supply enough flow, the drive will underperform rather than break. The more common limit is weight and reach: at 48 inches of auger diameter, a loader needs the counterweight and the lift to handle a full flight of spoil. If your machine struggles with a loaded 36 inch auger today, the answer is a bigger carrier, not a bigger drive.
Skid steer and compact track loaders take the universal quick attach frame, or the telescopic extension frame if you are piling. Excavators in the 4.5 to 8 tonne class take a single pin mount for plumb holes or a double pin mount when the boom needs to set the angle. Backhoe loaders take the backhoe cradle. All five are selected on this page and arrive fitted to the drive.
No. Bits are ordered separately so the diameter matches the hole rather than the drive. The 7DDT runs a 2.5" hex output shaft, which takes the A6 earth auger bits for general drilling, the RC6 rock and earth combo bits where ground is mixed, and the DR6 dedicated rock augers for fracturable rock and shale.
Yes. A two-speed motor releases internal case pressure as it shifts, and without a dedicated low-pressure return to tank that pressure builds against the shaft seal until it fails. Digga supplies the case drain hose with the drive; the return line has to be available on your machine.
No. The drive ships with a 10 foot powerlead and a 2-pin connector fitted, and the cab controller is a separate item. Plug-and-play kits with a rocker switch and 12V lead come in 10, 20, 40 and 50 foot harness lengths, with joystick-mounted toggle and floor-mounted foot switch options available in place of the rocker switch.
Every mount package on this page is offered two ways: No HALO, or Include HALO Auger Alignment System. HALO is a ring of red and green lights built into the hood of the drive that tells the operator when the drive is plumb, fore and aft and left to right. It replaces the second person standing at the hole calling the auger straight. On a one-person crew, or on work where holes are inspected for plumb, it pays for itself quickly. HALO drives come with an extension cable and an in-cab 12V plug as standard.
Five years on the gearbox and three years on the motor for drilling use, plus a lifetime shaft pull-out warranty, subject to maintenance per the operator's manual. Digga treats anchoring separately: a DDS or DDT drive used for screw anchoring needs an Energy Control Valve fitted for the warranty to stand.
