The Digga DR6 Rock Auger Bit uses heavy-duty rotating carbide bullet picks specifically engineered for drilling from fracturable rock through to very hard rock — conditions that standard A-series or RC-series earth auger bits cannot handle. Rotating picks distribute wear around the pick circumference for dramatically longer service life than fixed picks. Short flighting design encourages regular spoil removal, allowing cool air to enter the hole and enabling regular inspection of the carbide picks. Available in 6"–18" diameters for machines 5–25T. Made in Dyersville, Iowa, USA.

DR6 requires a Digga auger drive compatible with 5-25T machine class (1MDS through 4DDS drives or appropriate excavator drives). Confirm drive unit and machine are rated for rock drilling conditions and machine weight class before ordering.
Compatible with excavators in the 5–25T class:
| Caterpillar | Komatsu | Volvo | Doosan |
| John Deere | Hitachi | Kubota | Yanmar |
Confirm drive unit is rated for rock drilling and machine weight class matches. DR6 suits both skid steers (heavier end) and compact excavators in this range.

Q: What is the difference between DR6 and A4/RC4 auger bits?
DR6 uses rotating carbide bullet picks for drilling in genuine rock — fracturable to very hard. A4 uses flat chisel teeth for earth and clay. RC4 uses taper teeth for earth to medium rock. DR6 is the appropriate choice when ground conditions include solid rock that defeats A4 or RC4 teeth. |
|
Q: What rotating picks do I order for the DR6?
DR6 uses DP-00C3SR 19mm rotating rock picks in DP-000C10 pockets. The pilot tooth is DP-C1HDLR. Both are sold separately on eskidsteer.com — see the DR6 Rock Auger Pilot Tooth and DR6 Rock Auger Rotating Pick listings. |
|
Q: Why is the flighting shorter on the DR6 than on earth auger bits?
Short flighting allows rock chips and cuttings to be removed from the hole more frequently during drilling. This prevents cuttings from accumulating around the picks (which causes regrinding and heat), allows cool air to enter the hole, and lets the operator visually inspect the picks and pilot through the open auger column. |
|
Q: What drive unit do I need with the DR6?
DR6 suits machines 5–25T. For skid steers, a 3DSS or 4DSS is appropriate at the lower end. For mini excavators and compact excavators in the 5–10T class, contact eSkidSteer at 866-757-8337 for any questions. |
|
Q: Can DR6 drill through reinforced concrete?
DR6 is designed for natural rock drilling. Reinforced concrete contains rebar that can jam and damage auger bits. |
