An excavator to skid steer adapter built for mini machines: the Amulet XBoom converts a mini excavator into a rigid-boom tool carrier — and back again in seconds. It mounts at the boom end, not the stick end, so the load sits closer to the machine’s centre of gravity and you can lift heavier with less tipping than a stick-mounted adapter allows. 🔧 How the XBoom Coupler System Works
The XBoom is a three-component system, not a single adapter plate:
- The boom coupler installs at the end of the boom, where the arm normally attaches.
- The arm receiver lets the excavator arm pin back on, so you switch between digging and tool-carrying rather than choosing one.
- The Universal Skid Steer Adapter (MI, MU or SU) carries the attachment itself.
Because the mount sits at the boom end rather than the stick end, the leverage working against the machine is much shorter. That is the whole point of the design: you can pick up heavier objects with less tipping than a stick-mounted setup, in a full revolving configuration that keeps the machine’s complete range of motion. The result is a rigid frontal force structure with a smaller overall footprint — which is what makes it work in confined areas where a skid steer cannot turn.
📐 Choosing Your Excavator to Skid Steer Adapter — MI, MU or SU
Two things decide your adapter: the weight of your excavator, which sets the XBoom model, and the size of the attachments you want to run, which sets the adapter. Amulet publishes a bucket-width range for each adapter — check yours against it before ordering, because a 60" bucket will not run on an MI adapter no matter which XBoom model your machine takes.

MI and MU carry mini skid steer and small-frame loader attachments — on those two the XBoom is effectively a mini excavator to mini skid steer adapter. SU carries full-size universal skid steer attachments. If you already own the attachments you plan to run, measure the widest one and pick the adapter whose range covers it.

With an SU adapter fitted, the XBoom opens the full universal skid steer attachment catalogue to a mini excavator — more than 30 tool categories that the machine could not otherwise carry:

- Forks and handlers — pallet forks, bale spears, bale handlers

Which XBoom adapter do I need — MI, MU or SU?
The adapter is set by the size of attachment you want to run, not by your machine. MI (Mini-Walk Behind) handles 32"–48" buckets and carries attachments built for Dingo, Boxer, Ditch Witch and Vermeer mini skid steers. MU (Mini-Universal) handles 36"–54" and carries attachments on the 463, S70, MT50, MT52, MT55 and MT85 patterns. SU (Standard Universal) handles 54"–84" and carries all standard full-size universal skid steer attachments. Measure the widest attachment you plan to run and pick the adapter whose range covers it.
Which XBoom model fits my excavator?
The XBoom model is set by machine weight: XB-15 for 4,000 lb machines, XB-25 for 6,000 lb, XB-30 for 7,000 lb, XB-35 for 8,000 lb, XB-45 for 10,000 lb, XB-50 for 11,000 lb and XB-60 for 13,000 lb. Can I still dig with my excavator after fitting an XBoom?
Yes. The XBoom system includes an arm receiver that lets the excavator arm pin back on, so the machine switches between excavator function and tool carrier rather than being permanently converted. Amulet designed it to change back and forth in seconds — as easy as changing a bucket.
Why does the XBoom mount on the boom instead of the stick?

Mounting at the boom end improves this relative to a stick-mounted setup, but it does not raise the machine’s rated capacity.
Does the XBoom work as a skid steer to excavator adapter in reverse?
It works in the direction that matters: the XBoom lets an excavator carry skid steer attachments. Returns
We offer returns and exchanges in limited circumstances as follows:
- In order to submit a return, you must contact us by email at support@eSkidsteer.com for us to confirm the items ordered are eligible for return or exchange;
- To be eligible for a return, you must commence the return process within 30 days of your item being delivered to you and:
- it must be unused, for example, once an item is hooked up to an attachment plate, hydraulic lines or electrical connection, it will not be eligible for return. Likewise, if your item shows any sign of use, which we may determine in our sole and absolute discretion, we will not accept the return;
- it must be in the same condition you received it in. You will be required to send us timestamped photos of the condition of your items as a condition to determine your eligibility for the return or exchange; and
- it must be returned in the same packaging or containers as it was received in.
We do not accept returns for products that were listed as final sale items at the time of purchase.
You agree to pay a 25% restocking fee on all returns, which we will deduct from any refund owing to you.
After the above referenced 30-day period, unfortunately we cannot offer you a refund or exchange, under any circumstances.
If your return or exchange is approved, we will provide instructions on shipping your items back to us or the applicable supplier via email.
You agree that you shall be responsible for all return shipping costs and related expenses.

Lost or Damaged
If the item is damaged when you receive it, do not sign the proof of delivery, and contact us immediately at support@eSkidsteer.com. If you sign the proof of delivery form, you cannot later claim the item was lost (i.e. not delivered) or damaged on arrival.
If the item is damaged on arrival take photos of the damage with a time stamp.
In the event the item is lost or damaged on arrival, we will assist you with filing a reimbursement claim directly with the applicable supplier or shipping company as applicable. However, you agree that as we are not the direct supplier of the items, it shall be your responsibility to pursue any claims with the applicable supplier in the event your lost or damaged item is not replaced by the supplier or carrier.
