The Haugen MWP Industrial Work Platform is a forklift man basket — a fork-mounted personnel platform for telehandlers and rough terrain forklifts, rated at 1,000 lbs maximum capacity in four platform sizes (4x4 to 4x9'8") with three configurable options: platform size, fork pocket style (Industrial or Large), and 60" High Back (for mast-style forklift protection). Built to meet and exceed ANSI/ITSDF B56.6-2016 and CSA B335 — the same standards required by OSHA for rough terrain work platforms. The owner of Haugen Attachments participates in the OSHA standards committee, meaning compliance requirements are built in by design, not retrofitted. Empty weights: MWP 4x4 (395 lbs), MWP 4x6 (487 lbs), MWP 4x8 (578 lbs), MWP 4x116 (630 lbs). Steel mesh floor, collapsible railings (no tools), spring-loaded self-latching doors, safety restraint tie-downs rated 3,600 lbs each. Made in USA with a 1-year warranty.

The MWP Industrial Work Platform uses a fork slot mounting system. Insert both fork tines fully into the Industrial or Large fork pockets, then install the steel locking pin behind the heel of each tine using the chained hitch pin. Always use both fork pockets and center the tines on the carriage. Tilt and swing cylinders on telehandler carriages must be disabled before use. The 1/3 rule applies: the combined weight of the platform plus all personnel and materials must not exceed 1/3 of the host machine's rated capacity at the load center and lift height. A PE-certified down-rated load chart for your specific machine can be obtained from Haugen on request.
Designed for telehandlers, rough terrain forklifts, and standard forklifts with fork carriage. Standard fork pocket size 3-1/2" x 7-1/2". Compatible with:
| JLG | Genie | Manitou | Skytrak |
| Caterpillar | John Deere |
Compatibility is determined by fork pocket size and host machine capacity — verify your machine's rated capacity before use. Never exceed the capacity of the attachment or the host machine.

Q: What is the difference between Industrial Pockets and Large Pockets?
Industrial Pockets (standard) are sized at 2.75" x 7.75" with 30" center spacing — they fit the majority of standard telehandler fork tines. Large Pockets accommodate wider or thicker fork tines that exceed the Industrial Pocket dimensions. If your telehandler uses non-standard or oversized tines, order the Large Pocket option. Contact Haugen at 877-580-6218 to confirm your tine dimensions match the Large Pocket specification before ordering. |
|
Q: When do I need the High Back option?
The 60" High Back is required (or strongly recommended) when using the platform on a mast-style (vertical mast) forklift. Without a high back, platform occupants may accidentally contact the forklift mast during elevation, which creates a crush hazard. For telehandlers with an extending boom, the high back is not typically required but does not hurt. Check your machine type and Haugen's recommendations if uncertain. |
|
Q: What does the 1/3 rule mean in practice for this platform?
The combined weight of the platform, all personnel, and all tools/materials cannot exceed 1/3 of the host machine's rated lift capacity at the relevant load center and height. Example: telehandler rated 9,000 lbs at the 24" load center → maximum combined weight 3,000 lbs. MWP 4x6 weighs 487 lbs empty → maximum personnel + material = 3,000 − 487 = 2,513 lbs, capped at the platform's 1,000 lb maximum. Always use the more restrictive of the two limits. |
|
Q: What are the occupancy limits for each platform size?
The Haugen operators manual specifies: MWP 4x4 and MWP 4x6 — maximum 2 occupants. MWP 4x8 and MWP 4x116 — up to 4 occupants. Total personnel and material weight must still not exceed 1,000 lbs and must not exceed 1/3 of the host machine's rated capacity. |
|
Q: Can I drive the telehandler with personnel in the platform?
No — personnel must only enter and exit the platform at ground level. Once personnel are in the platform and it is elevated, the machine must be in neutral with the parking brake set. The operator must remain at the controls at all times but cannot drive the machine with anyone in the platform. No exceptions. |
|
Q: Is a PE-certified down-rated load chart available for my specific telehandler?
Yes — Haugen can provide a load chart certified by a Professional Engineer specific to your telehandler model and platform combination. This chart documents the rated capacity for the platform-machine system at relevant height and reach positions for job-site compliance documentation. Contact Haugen at 877-580-6218 or request during ordering. |
