The Haugen MWPG is a galvanized telehandler work platform — a fork-mounted personnel platform for telehandlers and forklifts with a fully hot-dip galvanized finish that eliminates rust and maintains appearance in outdoor, marine, and high-humidity environments. Available in four sizes — MWPG 4x4 (415 lbs), MWPG 4x6 (522 lbs), MWPG 4x8 (618 lbs), and MWPG 4x116 / 4x9'8" (675 lbs) — all rated for 1,000 lbs maximum capacity. Meets and exceeds ANSI/OSHA B56.6-2016 standards. Features collapsible railings that assemble without tools, spring-loaded self-latching doors, safety restraint tie-downs, and a non-skid expanded steel mesh floor. Specify fork tine size when ordering. Made in the USA with a 1-year warranty.

The MWPG Galvanized Work Platform uses a fork slot mounting system — insert fork tines into the platform's fork pockets and secure with the retaining pins (chained to the platform). Specify your fork tine dimensions when ordering so Haugen can match the pocket size. The 1/3 rule applies: the combined weight of the platform plus all personnel and material must not exceed 1/3 of the host machine's rated capacity at the applicable load center and height.
Designed for telehandlers, rough terrain forklifts, and standard forklifts with fork carriage. Standard fork pocket size 3-1/2" x 7-1/2". Compatible with:
| JLG | Genie | Manitou | Skytrak |
| Caterpillar | John Deere |
Compatibility is determined by fork pocket size and host machine capacity — verify your machine's rated capacity before use. Never exceed the capacity of the attachment or the host machine.

Q: What is the difference between the MWPG (Galvanized) and the MWP (Industrial) work platform?
The MWPG uses a hot-dip galvanized finish that creates a zinc coating bonded to the steel, providing long-term rust protection without repainting. The standard MWP (Industrial) uses a painted finish. Both meet the same OSHA/ANSI B56.6-2016 standard and have the same 1,000 lb capacity. Choose MWPG for outdoor use, coastal environments, high humidity, or any application where the platform will be exposed to weather between uses. Weights differ slightly: MWPG 4x4 is 415 lbs vs MWP 4x4 at 395 lbs. |
|
Q: Why do I need to specify fork tine size when ordering?
The fork pockets on the platform are matched to the tine dimensions of your host machine. Specifying your fork tine thickness and width ensures the tines fit securely in the pockets with the retaining pins properly engaged. If your tine size is non-standard, Haugen can accommodate this at order time. Contact Haugen at 877-580-6218 to confirm. |

Q: What is the 1/3 rule and how do I calculate usable capacity?
OSHA and ANSI B56.6-2016 require that the combined weight of the platform, all personnel, and all tools/materials must not exceed 1/3 of the host machine's rated lift capacity at the applicable load center and lift height. Example: if your telehandler is rated at 6,000 lbs at position, the maximum combined platform + load weight is 2,000 lbs. Since the MWPG 4x6 weighs 522 lbs empty, the maximum allowable personnel + material load in that scenario is 2,000 − 522 = 1,478 lbs, but capped at the platform's 1,000 lb rating. |
|
Q: Can the platform be driven with personnel in it?
No — personnel must only enter and exit the platform when it is at ground level. Once elevated, the machine must remain stationary in neutral with the parking brake set. The operator must stay at the controls at all times while personnel are elevated. The platform is not a transport device — it is a stationary work position at height. |
|
Q: What size platform should I choose?
Choose based on your machine's available capacity and the workspace needed. The 4x4 (415 lbs) minimizes host machine weight penalty for smaller telehandlers. The 4x6 and 4x8 provide more working room for two-person jobs with tools. The 4x116 (4x9'8", 675 lbs) is the largest option but requires a host machine with minimum load-bearing tire width of 96 inches. Verify your machine's load-bearing width and capacity with the Haugen load capacity tables. |
|
Q: Is this platform safe for mast-style forklifts?
Yes, but the 60" high back option is strongly recommended for mast-style (vertical mast) forklifts to prevent accidental contact between platform occupants and the forklift mast during elevation. The standard MWPG does not include a high back — if a high back is required for your mast-style machine, inquire with Haugen at 877-580-6218 about available options. |
