The Haugen MIJ/MIJ-3000 is a forklift jib attachment — an adjustable fork-mounted boom jib for telehandlers and forklifts, extending from 4 to 12 feet through 8 preset positions with load capacities from 2,050 lbs (MIJ standard) to 2,900 lbs (MIJ-3000 heavy duty) at 12 feet. Certified by a third-party Professional Engineer with a 2-to-1 safety factor. Standard fork pocket size 3-1/2" x 7-1/2" with position indicators on the jib so the operator always references the correct load chart for the selected extension. Five hook configurations are available for each duty class — from the base 5-ton Crosby eye hook to dual 10,000 lb swivel hook upgrades (M001–M004 codes). Empty weight: MIJ 525 lbs, MIJ-3000 640 lbs. Made in the USA with a 1-year warranty.

The MIJ/MIJ-3000 uses a fork slot mounting system — insert fork tines into the 3-1/2" x 7-1/2" pockets, install the chained retaining pins, and disable any hydraulic carriage tilt or swing functions before use. The jib capacity chart (decal on the jib) must be consulted before every use to confirm the capacity at the selected position and host machine configuration. A new down-rated load chart for the telehandler or forklift must be obtained from the machine manufacturer when this attachment is added.
Designed for telehandlers, rough terrain forklifts, and standard forklifts with fork carriage. Standard fork pocket size 3-1/2" x 7-1/2". Compatible with:
| JLG | Genie | Manitou | Skytrak |
| Caterpillar | John Deere |
Compatibility is determined by fork pocket size and host machine capacity — verify your machine's rated capacity before use. Never exceed the capacity of the attachment or the host machine.

Q: What is the difference between the MIJ (Standard) and MIJ-3000 (Heavy Duty)?
The MIJ is rated at 2,050 lbs at 12-foot extension; the MIJ-3000 is rated at 2,900 lbs at 12 feet — a meaningful 850 lb increase. Both share the same 8-position adjustment range (4–12 ft), fork pocket dimensions, and PE certification. Choose MIJ-3000 for loads that regularly approach or exceed the MIJ's 2,050 lb limit, or for jobs where extra capacity margin is required. The MIJ-3000 weighs 640 lbs vs the MIJ's 525 lbs, so verify your machine's capacity can handle the heavier attachment. |
|
Q: What do the M001, M002, M003, M004 hook codes mean?
The M codes are hook upgrade options that replace the standard 5-ton Crosby eye hook and shackle: M001 = one 6,000 lb swivel hook; M002 = two 6,000 lb swivel hooks; M003 = one 10,000 lb swivel hook (for MIJ-3000 only); M004 = two 10,000 lb swivel hooks (for MIJ-3000 only). The MIJ base model and MIJ-3000 base model come standard with the 5-ton eye hook. Specify the hook upgrade code at order time. |
|
Q: How do I determine the correct capacity for the extension position I'm using?
Each position (1 through 8, from 48" to 144") has its own rated capacity, shown on the load chart decal attached to the jib. Always read the decal for the specific position before lifting. Capacity decreases as the jib extends further — do not use the maximum capacity rating for shorter positions when the jib is extended to a longer position. |
|
Q: Why do I need a down-rated load chart from my machine manufacturer?
OSHA and industry standards require that when any attachment is added to a forklift or telehandler, the machine manufacturer's official down-rated capacity chart for that attachment be obtained and followed. The jib's load chart shows the jib's own capacity limits — the machine may be even more limited at certain heights and reach positions. The more restrictive of the two limits must always be followed. |
|
Q: Can this jib be used to lift personnel?
No — the Industrial Jib is designed for vertical load lifting only. It must never be used to lift or support personnel. For personnel elevation, see Haugen's Work Platform series (MWP, MWPG). |
|
Q: What maintenance is required before each use?
Before every use: inspect the lift hook, latch, and shackle; verify safety pins are installed and secured with cotter pins; check for excessive wear, cracked or broken welds on the jib; check each lifting hole for elongation; confirm the load chart decal is present and legible. Do not use the jib if any of these checks fail. |
