The Haugen MSTJ Skid Steer Jib Boom (Truss Jib) extends the lifting reach of your skid steer loader, available in three lengths: MSTJ 6 (6 ft, 2,000 lbs), MSTJ 9 (9 ft, 1,000 lbs), and MSTJ 12 (12 ft, 1,000 lbs). Built lightweight to maximize usable lift capacity, the jib uses a heavy-duty Universal Quick Attach mount and a welded pintle hitch at the end for rigging attachment. A built-in back angle provides rollback to keep loads seated during movement. No hydraulics or moving parts — the fixed-length truss structure is maintenance-free and dependable. One of the few truss jibs specifically engineered for skid steers rather than telehandlers. Made in the USA with a 1-year warranty.

The Haugen MSTJ uses the Universal Quick Attach System — attaches to the skid steer quick attach plate directly, the same as any bucket or attachment. No fork carriage required. Note: this is the skid steer truss jib (MSTJ). It is a different product from the fork slot telehandler truss jib (MFTJ) — do not confuse the two. Capacity is length-dependent: select the MSTJ 6 for loads up to 2,000 lbs; select MSTJ 9 or 12 for loads up to 1,000 lbs at extended reach.
Compatible with skid steer loaders and compact track loaders equipped with a Universal Quick Attach system, including:
| Bobcat | Caterpillar | John Deere | Case |
| New Holland | Takeuchi | Kubota | Gehl |
Compatibility is determined by mount type, not brand — confirm your machine's quick attach configuration before ordering.

Q: Why does the 6-foot model have twice the capacity of the 9 and 12-foot models?
Capacity decreases with jib length because of the increased moment arm — the longer the jib extends a load horizontally away from the machine's lift point, the greater the tipping and structural force imposed on the host machine. At 6 feet, the jib can support 2,000 lbs within its design safety factor. At 9 and 12 feet, the increased moment arm reduces safe capacity to 1,000 lbs. Always use the correct load chart for the length being used. |
|
Q: How is this different from the MFTJ telehandler fork slot truss jib?
The MSTJ (this product) uses a Universal Quick Attach skid steer mount and connects directly to the skid steer's quick attach plate — the same as a bucket. The MFTJ is a fork slot jib that slides onto telehandler fork tines via fork pockets. Choose the MSTJ if your machine is a skid steer; choose the MFTJ if your machine is a telehandler or forklift with forks. |
|
Q: Can this jib be used to set rafters and trusses?
Yes — Skid Steers Direct specifically lists setting rafters and moving loads into awkward positions as primary applications for the MSTJ. The built-in back angle keeps loads stable during positioning, and the pintle hitch at the end allows rigging attachment for controlled load placement. |
|
Q: Is there a Quick Attach truss jib if I need an adjustable length?
Yes — Haugen also offers a Quick Attach Adjustable Jib (MTJ series) for telehandlers with adjustable lengths and higher capacities. For a fixed-length skid steer jib, the MSTJ is the purpose-built option. Contact Haugen or a dealer to discuss adjustable alternatives if needed. |
|
Q: Does the workbook skidsteersdirect link go to the right product?
Note for the eSkidSteer team: the skidsteersdirect link in the workbook for this product (quick-attach-truss-jib) points to the Quick Attach Truss Jib for telehandlers — a different product. The correct URL for the MSTJ skid steer truss jib is skidsteersdirect.com/products/skid-steer-truss-jibs. Recommend updating the workbook. |
|
Q: Is this attachment made in the USA?
Yes — all Haugen Attachments products are made in the USA. The MSTJ is manufactured in Casselton, North Dakota with a 1-year manufacturer warranty. "Think Quality - Think Safety - Think Haugen." |
