The Haugen MIJ-SKD is a skid steer boom attachment that extends the reach of your machine by up to 8 feet with a maximum capacity of 2,000 lbs — making it one of the few industrial-grade skid steer jibs built in the USA with a universal quick attach mount. The boom telescopes manually through 7 positions from 5 to 8 feet and locks securely with safety pins at each position. A 15-degree built-in rollback angle keeps loads seated toward the machine during movement. Additional hook mounting holes in the frame allow longer or awkward loads to be secured with multiple attachment points. Comes standard with a 5-ton eye hook. Made in the USA with a 1-year warranty.

The Haugen MIJ-SKD uses the Universal Quick Attach System and mounts directly to the skid steer's quick attach plate — the same as any other skid steer bucket or attachment. No fork carriage or secondary adapter required. Requires no auxiliary hydraulics for boom adjustment — extension is manual with locking pins.
Compatible with skid steer loaders and compact track loaders equipped with a Universal Quick Attach system, including:
| Bobcat | Caterpillar | John Deere | Case |
| New Holland | Takeuchi | Kubota | Gehl |
Compatibility is determined by mount type, not brand — confirm your machine's quick attach configuration before ordering.

Q: What is the maximum reach and capacity of the MIJ-SKD?
The MIJ-SKD telescopes from 5 to 8 feet with a maximum rated capacity of 2,000 lbs at the 8-foot extension position. Capacity increases as the boom is retracted to shorter positions. Never exceed the rated capacity of the jib or the host machine's rated lift capacity. |
|
Q: How does the boom extend — is it hydraulic or manual?
The boom is manually adjusted. The operator sets the desired extension length to one of 7 predetermined positions and locks it with a safety pin. There are no hydraulics or moving parts in the jib itself, which means less maintenance and nothing to leak or fail on the job. |
|
Q: What is the 5-ton eye hook for — isn't the jib rated at 2,000 lbs?
The 5-ton (10,000 lb) eye hook is rated far above the jib's 2,000 lb working capacity to provide an adequate safety factor at the hook connection point. The jib's working load limit is still 2,000 lbs — the hook rating means the hook itself is never the failure point within the jib's rated range. |
|
Q: What are the extra holes at the bottom of the frame for?
The additional holes at the base of the frame allow the operator to attach extra chains or hooks to secure longer, wider, or cumbersome loads at multiple points — preventing the load from swinging or rotating during positioning. |
|
Q: Does this jib comply with OSHA or ANSI requirements?
The Haugen Industrial Jib line is engineered and rated by a third-party Certified Professional Engineer and is built with a minimum 2-to-1 safety factor. A copy of the engineering certification letter is available upon request from eSkidSteer 866-757-8337. |
|
Q: Is this the same as the fork-mounted industrial jib — what is the difference?
The MIJ-SKD (this product) uses a universal skid steer quick attach mount and has a 2,000 lb capacity with an 8-foot maximum extension. Haugen also offers fork-mounted industrial jibs (MIJ, MIJ-3000) with up to 2,900 lb capacity and 4–12 foot extension for telehandlers and forklifts. Choose the MIJ-SKD if your primary machine is a skid steer. |
