🔧 Where a Short Heavy Jib Beats a Long One
At 5 to 8 feet this is deliberately short. That is the point — capacity on any jib falls as it extends, so a boom that stops at 8 feet holds a useful rating right across its range instead of tapering to almost nothing.
Seven positions between 27.75" and 99.75" let you set the reach to the job rather than working at whatever length the boom happens to be. The built-in back angle adds rollback, which keeps a swinging load under better control than a flat boom does.
If you need to set roof trusses or reach across a span, a truss boom is the right tool. If you need to lift something heavy just beyond where the machine can park, this is.
📐 You Will Need a Down-Rated Load Chart
A jib moves the load out in front of the carriage, which changes what the machine can safely lift. When any attachment is added to a forklift or telehandler, the machine manufacturer's down-rated capacity chart for that combination is what governs.
The jib's chart covers the jib alone. Your machine may be the more restrictive of the two at a given height and reach, and the lower limit always applies. Capacity also falls as a telehandler boom extends — work from the figures at the reach you will actually use.
⚠ Operating Rules — From Haugen's Manual
- Vertical lifting only. Never pull or drag a load with a jib.
- Disable the carriage's hydraulic tilt and swing functions before lifting, and position the mount so the load sits centred on the machine.
- Read the load chart for the position you are set to — not the one you used last time. Misreading the chart is how adjustable jibs get overloaded.
- Safety pins installed and secured with the cotter pin. Optional safety chains are an addition to the pins, never a substitute.
- Operator stays at the controls with the engine running while a load is on the jib.
- Nobody within ten feet of the fall zone, and never any part of yourself under a suspended load. Hard hats and steel toe boots nearby.
- Level, firm ground. Carry loads low and use tag lines to stop them swinging.
- Never lift people. Personnel lifting requires a certified work platform.
Before every use: check the hook, latch and shackle; confirm the pins are in and secured; look for excessive wear and cracked or broken welds; check the lifting holes for elongation; and make sure the load chart decal is present and legible.
❓ Skid Steer Boom FAQs
How is this different from a skid steer truss boom?
Length and purpose. This telescopes 5 to 8 feet and holds 2,000 lbs at full extension. A truss boom runs 6 to 12 feet and is built light to maximise reach, with capacity dropping accordingly. Use this for heavy lifts close in, a truss boom for placing material at distance.
What does the back angle do?
It tilts the boom slightly back from horizontal, increasing rollback. A load on a flat boom wants to swing forward; a built-in back angle resists that and keeps the load more settled while the machine moves.
Can I fit more than one hook?
Yes — the frame carries additional holes for extra hooks, and it ships with a 5-ton eye hook as standard. When more than one hook is in use, capacity is governed by the most extended one.
Do I need a down-rated load chart?
Yes. Any jib moves the load away from the carriage, so your machine manufacturer's down-rated chart for the combination applies, and the lower of the machine and jib limits governs.
What does it weigh?
380 lbs empty. That comes off your machine's available capacity before you add the load, so include it when you read the chart.
Can it lift people?
No. Material only, vertical lifting only. Personnel lifting requires a certified work platform.

We do not take orders on the phone for security reasons. To place an order, go to a product page, select the desired quantity of the item, and add it to your cart via the “Add to Cart” button. During checkout, you just need to enter or confirm your shipping address and credit card information, then you can place your order

Failure to Accept Products on Delivery
If you reject delivery of goods ordered from us, or otherwise fail to accept delivery of the goods, you agree to pay for all related and additional shipping fees, duties, taxes, restocking fees and other charges arising from such failure to accept delivery. After such failure to accept delivery of the goods, it shall be your responsibility to pay for and arrange a new shipping date.

We also provide tracking numbers for all orders. Once your order has been shipped, we will provide you with a tracking number that you can use to track the progress of your package. You will receive this tracking number via email.

Can I ship to multiple addresses?
At this time, we cannot ship to multiple addresses in one order. Please place separate orders on support@eSkidsteer.com to ship to different addresses. If you need assistance, please contact our Customer Service.
Wrong Address:
Please review and ensure that you have entered the correct address. We are not responsible for non-delivery due to errors in the address that you provide. If an order is returned due to an incorrect address, we will refund the original order (excluding the shipping fee) and ask that you re-submit your order.
Change of Address:
If your item hasn’t yet been shipped, you may change your delivery address by emailing at support@eSkidsteer.com. Please note that we are not obligated to ensure changes to the delivery address after the item has been delivered.

Returns
Returns
We offer returns and exchanges in limited circumstances as follows:
- In order to submit a return, you must contact us by email at support@eSkidsteer.com for us to confirm the items ordered are eligible for return or exchange;
- To be eligible for a return, you must commence the return process within 30 days of your item being delivered to you and:
- it must be unused, for example, once an item is hooked up to an attachment plate, hydraulic lines or electrical connection, it will not be eligible for return. Likewise, if your item shows any sign of use, which we may determine in our sole and absolute discretion, we will not accept the return;
- it must be in the same condition you received it in. You will be required to send us timestamped photos of the condition of your items as a condition to determine your eligibility for the return or exchange; and
- it must be returned in the same packaging or containers as it was received in.
We do not accept returns for products that were listed as final sale items at the time of purchase.
You agree to pay a 25% restocking fee on all returns, which we will deduct from any refund owing to you.
After the above referenced 30-day period, unfortunately we cannot offer you a refund or exchange, under any circumstances.
If your return or exchange is approved, we will provide instructions on shipping your items back to us or the applicable supplier via email.
You agree that you shall be responsible for all return shipping costs and related expenses.
Our shipping cost to you is not refundable.
You are also responsible for ensuring the items are carefully packaged for shipment and that risk of loss or damage during return shipping shall be your sole liability. You may wish to obtain insurance while the returned items are in transit.
Lost or Damaged
If the item is damaged when you receive it, do not sign the proof of delivery, and contact us immediately at support@eSkidsteer.com. If you sign the proof of delivery form, you cannot later claim the item was lost (i.e. not delivered) or damaged on arrival.
If the item is damaged on arrival take photos of the damage with a time stamp.
In the event the item is lost or damaged on arrival, we will assist you with filing a reimbursement claim directly with the applicable supplier or shipping company as applicable. However, you agree that as we are not the direct supplier of the items, it shall be your responsibility to pursue any claims with the applicable supplier in the event your lost or damaged item is not replaced by the supplier or carrier.
No Warranties Offered by Us
