The Haugen MSRB is a rock bucket skid steer operators rely on — a skid steer open-tine bucket purpose-built for field rock picking, construction site cleanup, landscape preparation, and boulder work. Available in six widths from 60" (16 tines, 540 lbs) to 92" (25 tines, 765 lbs), with 3/8" thick tines at 3" spacing and a serrated cutting edge. The skeleton frame design lets soil and fine debris fall through the 3" tine gaps while retaining rocks, boulders, and coarse debris — delivering clean, efficient rock separation on every pass. Bucket depth is 40" with 22" back height on all models. Universal Quick Attach. Made in USA with a 1-year warranty.

The MSRB uses the Universal Quick Attach system. Verify your machine's rated attachment capacity can handle the combined bucket weight plus expected rock load before selecting a larger model. The MSRB 84 (715 lbs) and MSRB 92 (765 lbs) are heavy before loading — confirm your machine's auxiliary hydraulic circuit (one circuit, standard couplers) and overall counterweight are adequate for larger widths.
Compatible with skid steer loaders and compact track loaders equipped with a Universal Quick Attach system, including:
| Bobcat | Caterpillar | John Deere | Case |
| New Holland | Takeuchi | Kubota | Gehl |
Compatibility is determined by mount type — confirm your machine's Universal Quick Attach configuration before ordering.

Q: What size should I choose?
Match the bucket width to your machine capacity. The MSRB 60 (540 lbs) fits compact and mid-size skid steers. The MSRB 66–78 range covers most full-size machines. The MSRB 84 (715 lbs) and MSRB 92 (765 lbs) are for large, high-capacity loaders — the empty bucket weight alone is significant and must be accounted for in your machine's rated lift capacity. |
|
Q: What is the difference between the skeleton rock bucket (MSRB) and the skeleton grapple (MSRG/MSRGS)?
The MSRB (rock bucket) is a fixed-bottom tine bucket — it picks up and holds material using only the tine geometry and machine crowd force, with no hydraulic clamping. The MSRG and MSRGS are grapple versions that add hydraulic dual or single cylinder clamps to actively hold material against the bucket. Choose the MSRB for loose rock, debris, and clearing work where the material is small enough to be scooped. Choose the MSRG/MSRGS for larger boulders, logs, and irregular material that needs to be clamped. |
|
Q: How does the serrated edge help compared to a smooth cutting edge?
The serrated edge creates multiple bite points that anchor into rock piles and debris on the down-crowd stroke. A smooth edge tends to ride over loose rocks or deflect off hardpan. The serrations require less downward crowd force to achieve initial penetration, which extends hydraulic pump life and reduces operator fatigue on repetitive picking passes. |
|
Q: Do I need hydraulics to operate this bucket?
No — the MSRB is a passive (no hydraulic) attachment. It operates with the skid steer's standard bucket curl and boom functions only. No auxiliary hydraulic circuit is required. |
|
Q: What materials can this bucket handle?
Field rocks and boulders (up to the bucket opening width), construction debris, concrete rubble, broken asphalt, rip-rap, landscape boulders, and coarse land clearing material. It is not suitable for fine soil only or powder materials — these pass through the 3" tine gaps, which is the design intent for rock separation, not material retention. |
|
Q: Is this bucket made in the USA?
Yes — all Haugen Attachments products are made in the USA at Marv Haugen Enterprises in Casselton, North Dakota, backed by a 1-year manufacturer warranty. |
