The Haugen skid steer grapple bucket comes in two configurations designed for general cleanup, scrap yards, and demolition: MSG (Scrap Grapple) — independent twin-arm grapples for uneven loads, and MSGS (Bucket Grapple) — single-arm clam design with bolt-on teeth. Both available in 72", 78", and 84" widths. MSG features industrial-grade 2.5"×10" cylinders, bolt-on side plates, 3/8" mount plates, and a weld-on high-carbon edge with a 5/8"×8" bolt-on cutting edge. MSGS uses a single grapple clam with bolt-on teeth and removable sides. Universal Quick Attach. Made in USA.

| Origin | Made in USA |
Both MSG and MSGS use Universal Quick Attach. The MSG requires two aux circuits (independent arms); the MSGS requires one aux circuit. Verify machine rated operating capacity against grapple weight (925–1,110 lbs) plus anticipated material load before operating.
Compatible with skid steer loaders and compact track loaders with Universal Quick Attach:
| Bobcat | Caterpillar | John Deere | Case |
| New Holland | Takeuchi | Kubota | Gehl |
Requires two auxiliary hydraulic circuits (independent grapple arms). Check your machine's rated operating capacity against attachment weight before operating.

Q: Which should I choose — MSG (Scrap Grapple) or MSGS (Bucket Grapple)?
Choose the MSG if you're handling mixed, irregular, or asymmetric loads like scrap metal, demolition debris, mixed rock and dirt, or anything that presents an uneven surface to the grapple. The independent arms handle uneven loads better. Choose the MSGS if your primary use is containment and scooping — the single-arm clam with removable sides works well for brush, light debris, and loose material where the full grip of independent arms isn't needed. |
|
Q: What are the bolt-on side plates on the MSG for?
The bolt-on side plates on the MSG provide a closed side wall on the bucket that prevents material from spilling out the sides during transport. Being bolt-on, they can be removed for applications where material jams in closed sides, or replaced when worn. This gives the MSG more operational flexibility than a design with welded-on sides. |
|
Q: What does the dual cutting edge system on the MSG provide?
The MSG comes with both a weld-on high-carbon edge and a 5/8"×8" bolt-on edge (BOE). The weld-on edge is the structural primary edge; the bolt-on edge is the consumable that takes the cutting wear. When the bolt-on edge wears, it is replaced by unbolting and bolting on a new edge — no welding required. This extends the service intervals between structural edge replacements significantly. |
|
Q: Do both MSG and MSGS require the same hydraulic circuits?
The MSG has two independent grapple arms, each driven by its own cylinder, and therefore requires two aux hydraulic circuits. The MSGS has a single grapple clam and requires only one aux circuit. Check your skid steer's aux circuit configuration before ordering — some machines provide only one aux circuit or have a limited flow dual-circuit configuration. |
|
Q: What material is the MSGS suited for vs the MSG?
MSGS: brush, branches, landscaping debris, light to medium mixed debris, and material that works well with a single-arm clam grip. MSG: scrap metal, construction rubble, mixed aggregate and debris, demolition material, and anything requiring independent arm action to maintain grip on uneven piles. Both can handle a wide range of general cleanup applications. |
