Q: What trailers can I move with the MFBA? Any trailer with a standard ball coupler in size 1-7/8", 2", or 2-5/16" (specify ball mount separately). Empty trailers, semi-trailers, boat trailers, and equipment trailers with ball couplers are all compatible. The forklift's ground drive force determines how heavy a trailer it can move — empty trailers (8,000-15,000 lbs) are typically movable; loaded trailers may exceed the forklift's push capacity. |
Q: Does this come with a ball mount? No — the MFBA provides the 2" receiver tube. Ball mounts (the part that holds the trailer ball) are sold separately and are widely available at trailer supply stores. Select the ball size that matches your trailers' coupler. |
Q: How is the MFBA secured to the forks? The MFBA slides over the pallet fork tines like any fork-pocket attachment. A safety pin is then inserted through the MFBA and the fork tine to prevent the unit from sliding forward off the tine tips during trailer movement. Verify the pin is fully seated before moving any trailer. |
Q: What is the difference between MFBA and MFSH-6TS / MFSH-10TS? The MFBA (this product) is a trailer spotter only — it provides a 2" receiver for moving trailers. It does not include a swivel hook. The MFSH-6TS and MFSH-10TS (Swivel Hook with 2" Receiver) combine a 6,000 or 10,000 lb swivel hook with the 2" trailer receiver in a single unit — they provide both crane-type overhead lifting and trailer spotting. Choose the MFBA if you only need trailer spotting; choose MFSH-TS if you also need overhead lifting. |
Q: Is the MFBA rated for a specific trailer weight? The MFBA itself does not have a separate trailer weight rating — it is the forklift's ground drive capacity and hydraulic system that limits trailer movement, not the MFBA. Contact Haugen at 877-580-6218 if you need to confirm the MFBA's structural design capacity for a specific heavy-trailer application. |
