Control Output Note: Bobcat, Case, Kubota, Takeuchi, Gehl and Mustang machines provide up to 6 switched 14-pin electrical outputs. Caterpillar/ASV/Terex systems, however, only supply 4 switched outputs. Because of this OEM limitation, this adapter is built with 5 active pins—supporting the most commonly used attachment functions while maintaining electrical reliability.
Cold Planer Compatibility: Cold planers require all 6 electrical outputs and therefore are not compatible with Cat 8-pin setups. Caterpillar systems use two additional hydraulic functions where other manufacturers use electrical control, which means this adapter cannot provide full operation of cold planer attachments on Cat 8-pin machines.
If you expect to repin attachments frequently, we include single-use tools to help you get started. For contractors, rental fleets or busy shops, we recommend upgrading to commercial-duty pin tools for faster, cleaner and more reliable connector work.
Both ends of this product are built to factory pin specifications using original-style components. We cannot guarantee that your machine was ordered with all factory control options, nor that your attachment wiring still matches OEM configuration—especially with auction or second-hand attachments. To correct any pinout differences, we include basic tools and instructions so you can realign the wiring for proper operation.

This adapter is wired with five pins to give you Up/Down and Left/Right control plus the necessary ground while staying compatible with the FFC 8-pin Delphi Metripak layout used on these attachments.
No. Cold planers typically require six separate electrical outputs, while the Cat/ASV/Terex-style control system only provides four. In addition, some cold planers rely on extra hydraulic functions instead of electrical signals. Because of this, cold planers will not operate correctly with this adapter and require a different solution that supports all of their functions.
FFC tools that work with this adapter use an 8-position Delphi Metripak plug on the attachment harness. When you look at the connector on the attachment, you should be able to count eight possible pin locations in a rectangular housing, even if not all of them are populated with terminals. If you are unsure, compare the connector shape to Delphi Metripak documentation or consult your attachment manual before ordering.
Most FFC attachments wired to factory spec plug right in and operate without changes. If you are dealing with second-hand, rewired or auction attachments, you may need to move pins to match the FFC or machine layout. Single-use pin tools are included with many kits, and a commercial-duty Deutsch/Delphi tool is available separately if you expect to repin connectors often.
No. The adapter only routes electrical control signals from your 14-pin machine to the 8-pin FFC attachment. It does not modify hydraulic flow, pressure or machine settings. As long as your loader and attachment are sized correctly and plumbed for the job, using this adapter will not affect performance beyond enabling proper electrical control.
