📘 Overview

Haugen's extreme duty MHF series provides high-capacity pallet forks for skid steer in Class 2 (6,200 lb capacity) and Class 3 (10,000 lb capacity). Two frame widths: 45" and 60". Tine lengths from 48" to 96". Class 2 uses 1.75"×4" tines on 1-1/4"×3" carriage bars; Class 3 uses 2"×5" tines. Includes brick guard and reinforced sides. Universal Quick Attach. Made in USA with a 1-year warranty.

⚙️ Key Features

  • Class 2 (MHF 45/60): 1.75"×4" tines | 6,200 lb capacity
  • Class 3 (MHF-C3-60): 2"×5" tines | 10,000 lb capacity
  • Frame widths: 45" and 60"
  • Tine lengths: 48", 60", 72", 96" (Class 3 only for 96")
  • 1-1/4"×3" top and bottom carriage bars (Class 2)
  • Brick guard and reinforced sides
  • Universal Quick Attach | Made in USA | 1-year warranty

🔑 Benefits

  • Class 3 at 10,000 lb rated capacity covers the full lifting range of high-capacity skid steers and compact wheel loaders — the highest-capacity skid steers (Cat 299D3, Bobcat S850, JD 332G) are rated at 3,000-4,300 lbs ROC. Class 3 forks at 10,000 lb provide a safety margin that exceeds the machine's own ROC, ensuring the tines are not the limiting factor in any skid steer application even at maximum machine capacity.
  • 60" frame width provides a wider spacing baseline than standard 48" frames for unstable or oversized loads — wider frames provide more stable lateral support for loads that extend beyond a standard 48" frame, including wide equipment, long steel, and non-palletized material. The 60" frame significantly improves stability on loads wider than 4 feet.
  • 2"×5" Class 3 tines resist bending under high sustained loads that deform Class 2 tines — Class 2 tines (1.75"×4") are rated for 6,200 lbs. Under repeated loading near rating, tines accumulate fatigue. Class 3 tines (2"×5") at 10,000 lb rating provide a much larger structural margin in everyday commercial use, extending tine life dramatically in high-cycle fork operations.
  • Brick guard protects the operator cab from falling material during high-stack loads — the brick guard is the protective frame between the forks and the carriage that prevents items from sliding backward off the tines into the cab. On high stacks (4+ pallet layers), the brick guard is essential for operator safety.

🔗 Attachment Compatibility

Universal QA. The fork rated capacity (6,200 or 10,000 lbs) always exceeds the machine's own ROC — the machine ROC is the operative limit. Verify your machine's rated operating capacity before use. At 520-590 lbs (known weights), subtract fork weight from machine ROC to determine maximum usable load.

🚜 Machine Compatibility

Compatible with skid steer loaders with Universal Quick Attach (SSQA):

Bobcat Caterpillar John Deere Case
New Holland Takeuchi Kubota Gehl

No hydraulics required.

❓ FAQs

Q: What is the difference between Class 2 and Class 3?

Class 2 (MHF 45/60 series): 1.75"×4" tines rated at 6,200 lbs. Suitable for heavy commercial skid steer pallet fork work. Class 3 (MHF-C3-60 series): 2"×5" tines rated at 10,000 lbs. For the highest-capacity skid steers, compact track loaders, and applications requiring maximum fork structural margin. Class 3 is also the correct choice for high-cycle commercial operations where tine fatigue life matters.

Q: What is the maximum tine length available?

Class 2: 72" maximum tine length. Class 3: 96" maximum tine length. The MHF-C3-60-96 provides 96" (8-foot) tines rated at 10,000 lbs for applications involving very long loads (pipe, steel, lumber over 8 feet) that require deep tine penetration for stability.

Q: Why are there two frame widths (45" and 60") in Class 2?

45" frame (MHF 45 series): appropriate for standard pallets and most commercial material handling where load width does not exceed the frame. 60" frame (MHF 60 series): for loads wider than standard pallets, large equipment, pipe, or any application where a wider tine base provides better stability. Class 3 is only available in the 60" frame.

Q: What does the brick guard protect?

The brick guard is the protective framework between the fork tines and the carriage plate. It prevents stacked items from sliding backward off the tines during lifting or transport — particularly important when carrying stacked pallets above the operator's sight line, loose bulk material on forks, or equipment that could shift during acceleration.

Q: Are these compatible with high-capacity skid steers like the Bobcat S850 or Cat 299?

Yes — both are rated above the ROC of all current-production large frame skid steers. The MHF Class 2 (6,200 lb) is appropriate for machines with ROC up to approximately 6,000 lbs. The MHF-C3 Class 3 (10,000 lb) is appropriate for the highest-capacity machines and for operations where extended tine life and maximum structural margin are priorities.
