Cavity Plug Kit - Run a Bobcat Cement Mixer or Mulcher w/o Hood on Any Machine - Skid Steer Genius

Bobcat® and other manufacturers didn’t make it easy: some Fecon mulchers (sold through Bobcat®) and certain Bobcat® cement mixers were built with extra CAN electronics and a hydraulic control block that aren’t actually needed for basic operation—effectively limiting the attachment to specific machines.

This kit is the straightforward workaround. It bypasses that unnecessary electronic/hydraulic “gate” so you can run the attachment as it was originally intended to work, without relying on the factory harness in situations where it isn’t required.

Why this ships as a 3-piece kit:
There are a few variations in the valve setup—some use a cartridge, while others use one of two plug sizes. To keep it simple (and cost-effective), you’ll start with the cartridge option. If your valve doesn’t match, you’ll use the included plugs instead. One of the three solutions will fit—guaranteed.

What you’ll do (overview):

1. Locate the single solenoid near where the main hydraulic hoses enter the control block.
2. Remove the coil, then remove the solenoid cartridge from the block.
3. Compare what you removed to the kit components to confirm the correct match.
4. Install the cavity plug to cap the chamber and allow hydraulic flow to bypass—so the attachment can operate without the electronic harness.

This is especially useful on machines (like many John Deere models) that don’t provide a switched “K” power pin for attachment electronics. In many cases, you can also remove the electronic harness entirely after the bypass is installed.

Compatibility notes:

• Mulcher: This bypass approach applies to mulchers that do not have a hood. If your mulcher has a hood, you’ll still need the harness to control hood open/close.
• Cement Mixer: This bypass allows the mixer to operate, but the factory RACs remote/start functions will not be supported.

Once installed, you can run your Bobcat mulcher on Caterpillar, John Deere, Kubota, Case, Gehl, Mustang, Volvo, and many other skid steer or compact track loader brands. Many customers also choose this kit simply to eliminate constant cable damage and replacement costs.
