Bobcat® and other manufacturers didn’t make it easy: some Fecon mulchers (sold through Bobcat®) and certain Bobcat® cement mixers were built with extra CAN electronics and a hydraulic control block that aren’t actually needed for basic operation—effectively limiting the attachment to specific machines.
This kit is the straightforward workaround. It bypasses that unnecessary electronic/hydraulic “gate” so you can run the attachment as it was originally intended to work, without relying on the factory harness in situations where it isn’t required.
Why this ships as a 3-piece kit:There are a few variations in the valve setup—some use a cartridge, while others use one of two plug sizes. To keep it simple (and cost-effective), you’ll start with the cartridge option. If your valve doesn’t match, you’ll use the included plugs instead. One of the three solutions will fit—guaranteed.
What you’ll do (overview):
This is especially useful on machines (like many John Deere models) that don’t provide a switched “K” power pin for attachment electronics. In many cases, you can also remove the electronic harness entirely after the bypass is installed.
Help us keep cracking these “locked” attachments:If you’re willing, send us the removed controllers. We use them for testing so we can build more solutions that help operators run their attachments across brands. As a thank-you, we’ll send you $75 when your controller is received.
Below is the Fecon mulching head control block example, showing the cartridge removed and the cavity plug solution.
Compatibility notes:
Once installed, you can run your Bobcat mulcher on Caterpillar, John Deere, Kubota, Case, Gehl, Mustang, Volvo, and many other skid steer or compact track loader brands. Many customers also choose this kit simply to eliminate constant cable damage and replacement costs.
#119 - Bobcat Cement Mixer
This kit removes unnecessary electronic control components that prevent certain Bobcat-branded attachments from operating on non-Bobcat machines.
This kit is intended for Bobcat-branded Fecon mulchers and Bobcat cement mixers that were modified to require a Bobcat 7-pin CAN controller.
They were equipped with additional electronic control components that are not required for basic operation and restrict compatibility to Bobcat machines only.
The kit bypasses the electronic control by replacing the solenoid cartridge with a cavity plug, allowing hydraulic flow without the electronic harness.
Yes, it ships as a three-piece kit to cover different cartridge and plug variations found on these attachments.
If the cartridge does not match, one of the included plugs can be used instead to achieve proper bypass.
Yes, once the cavity plug is installed, the electronic harness can be removed.
Yes, this solution is especially helpful on John Deere machines that do not provide switched power on Pin K.
No, this process only works on mulchers without a hood. Hooded mulchers require the electronic harness for hood operation.
This bypasses the brake system in the same manner as if the attachment were purchased directly from the original attachment manufacturer.
Yes, it allows the mixer to operate hydraulically, but remote start and RACs functionality will not work.
After installation, the attachment can operate on Caterpillar, John Deere, Kubota, Case, Gehl, Mustang, Volvo, and other compatible skid steer or compact track loaders.
Some customers use it to eliminate fragile electronic cables that are frequently damaged and costly to replace.
