Haugen's industrial-grade skid steer brush cutter series comes in two deck styles — HBM (Closed Front) and HOC (Open Front) — and two flow requirements: Standard Flow (15–25 GPM) and High Flow (26–40 GPM). Three widths: 60", 72", and 78". Standard flow models cut up to 3" diameter material; high flow models cut up to 4" diameter. Features include stump jumper, 1/4" reinforced deck, 2 bi-directional blades, hoses and couplers included. Universal Quick Attach. Made in USA with a 1-year warranty.

Check your machine's auxiliary hydraulic flow (GPM) before selecting a model. Standard models require 15-25 GPM. High-flow models require 26-40 GPM. Using a standard flow machine (17-20 GPM) with a high-flow model will underperform the attachment. Running a high-flow machine on a standard-flow model may require flow control (check with Haugen). Also verify your machine's rated operating capacity against the attachment weight.
Compatible with skid steer loaders and compact track loaders with Universal Quick Attach:
| Bobcat | Caterpillar | John Deere | Case |
| New Holland | Takeuchi | Kubota | Gehl |
See attachment and machine hydraulic specifications for aux circuit requirements.

Q: Should I choose Closed Front (HBM) or Open Front (HOC)?
Closed Front (HBM): best for lighter brush work, grass, and weeds where the material is thin enough to be pulled under the deck without plugging. Provides better containment of cut material. Open Front (HOC): best for heavy brush, saplings, and dense vegetation where large-diameter stems or tangled vines would plug a closed-front deck. The open front allows large material to enter the cutter directly, dramatically reducing plugging. If you work in overgrown fields with 1-4" diameter brush, choose HOC. |
|
Q: Do I need high-flow for brush cutting?
Not always. Standard flow (15-25 GPM) is sufficient for material up to 3" diameter, which covers the majority of farm and commercial land clearing applications. High flow becomes necessary when you regularly cut material 3-4" in diameter, need faster cutting speed on dense brush, or work in applications where the extra blade power of the high-flow motor makes a noticeable productivity difference. High flow requires a high-flow skid steer. |
|
Q: What is a stump jumper?
A stump jumper is a heavy rotating plate mounted concentrically around the blade hub, behind the cutting blades. It spins freely and is designed to contact stumps and ground debris before the blades do, riding over the obstacle rather than transmitting the impact to the blades and gearbox. Without the stump jumper, hitting a stump at full RPM would bend or break a blade and potentially damage the gearbox. |
|
Q: What is the largest material diameter I can cut?
Standard flow (D models): up to 3" diameter stems and trees with the blade at operating speed. High flow (DH models): up to 4" diameter. These ratings assume the material is in its natural growth state — standing, living wood. Dead or dry wood may be slightly larger due to reduced resistance. Never attempt to cut material beyond the model's rated diameter — stalling the blade repeatedly overheats the motor. |
|
Q: Are replacement blades available?
Yes — contact Haugen at 877-580-6218 for replacement blade specifications for your specific model. Blades are the primary wear component on brush mowers and should be replaced when they become dull, notched, or worn below minimum thickness. Worn blades reduce cutting performance, increase fuel consumption, and stress the motor. |
