Universal SSQA. Requires auxiliary hydraulic circuit. Skid steers must operate in REVERSE during trenching. Confirm machine GPM meets XD trencher requirements.
Compatible with skid steer loaders with Universal Quick Attach (SSQA):
| Bobcat | Caterpillar | John Deere | Case |
| New Holland | Takeuchi | Kubota | Gehl |
Requires aux hydraulic. Skid steer must be in REVERSE during trenching. Confirm machine GPM.

Q: BFT2 (XD) vs BFT? BFT2 uses 2" pitch chain, up to 300mm (12") chain width, 20% more torque than BFT. BFT uses 1.654" pitch chain, up to 200mm (8") chain width. Choose BFT2 for heavier machines (up to 8T), harder soils, or applications requiring wider trench capability. |
|
Q: What depth can the BFT2 achieve? Up to 48" in standard models, up to 60" in high-flow models. Multiple preset depth control positions available via the visible adjustable foot. |
|
Q: What chain type? Earth: soft clean soil. Combination: hard/dry/medium conditions. Tungsten: frozen ground, hard rock, asphalt. Combination handles most typical mixed conditions. |
|
Q: Why must skid steers trench in reverse? The chain rotates with the bottom moving toward the machine. Trenching requires the machine to reverse (move away from the trench) so the chain cuts into new material. Forward travel causes chain jamming. |
|
Q: What GPM does the XD require? Contact eskidsteer.com for specific GPM requirements by XD model variant. High-flow variants require more GPM than standard models. |
