That brazing is the whole difference, and it is worth understanding what it buys: tungsten does not make a tooth stronger, it makes the cutting edge stay sharp in material that would round a steel edge within a few holes.

Why Replace Inner Teeth Rather Than the Whole A4 Bit
- Tungsten teeth change the economics rather than the capability — the A4 drills the same ground either way, but with MFT teeth it does so for longer between changes.
- In abrasive soils a steel edge can round within a handful of holes, and a rounded edge costs penetration rate on every hole after.
- The head is what you are protecting — teeth are consumable, the cutting head is not.

Is tungsten worth the extra over the steel TS-C-1?
In compacted, abrasive or granulated ground, comfortably. Tungsten holds a cutting edge where steel rounds off, so the interval between changes stretches considerably. In soft earth and clay the steel tooth does the same job for less.
Can I fit MFT teeth to a bit that came with steel teeth?
Yes — the pockets are identical. Change the full set including the pilot, since a PM-SQ-1 pilot paired with tungsten teeth becomes the part that wears out first.
When should I replace it?
When the cutting edge has rounded off, when penetration slows for the same down-pressure, or when the drive is working noticeably harder for the same hole. Past that point wear transfers into the auger head itself, and the head is not a replaceable part.
Can I mix tooth types on one head?
Not advisable. Mixed teeth wear at different rates and sit at slightly different heights, which loads some pockets harder than others and leaves a rougher hole. Run a matched set and replace them together.
Is a retaining pin included?
No. The TruLoc single pin, part number WP-000271, is a separate item. Keep spares — the pin is usually what goes missing during a change in the field.
How is shipping calculated?
Shipping is calculated at checkout — add the item to your cart, enter your delivery address, and the shipping charge is shown before you complete your order. Lift gate service is available for residential deliveries and can be selected at checkout.
How do I order?
Add the item to your cart and check out online — the order page asks for your machine make and model, so there is no need to call ahead. One thing crews often get wrong when upgrading to tungsten: they change the teeth and leave the steel pilot in place. The pilot takes heavy point loading and starts the hole, so once the teeth outlast it the pilot becomes the limiting part — the auger starts wandering on entry while the teeth are still sharp. Change the PM-SQ-3 pilot at the same time.

Can I ship to multiple addresses?

Wrong Address:
Please review and ensure that you have entered the correct address. We are not responsible for non-delivery due to errors in the address that you provide. If an order is returned due to an incorrect address, we will refund the original order (excluding the shipping fee) and ask that you re-submit your order.
Change of Address:

Returns
We offer returns and exchanges in limited circumstances as follows:
- In order to submit a return, you must contact us by email at support@eSkidsteer.com for us to confirm the items ordered are eligible for return or exchange;
- To be eligible for a return, you must commence the return process within 30 days of your item being delivered to you and:
- it must be unused, for example, once an item is hooked up to an attachment plate, hydraulic lines or electrical connection, it will not be eligible for return. Likewise, if your item shows any sign of use, which we may determine in our sole and absolute discretion, we will not accept the return;
- it must be in the same condition you received it in. You will be required to send us timestamped photos of the condition of your items as a condition to determine your eligibility for the return or exchange; and
- it must be returned in the same packaging or containers as it was received in.
We do not accept returns for products that were listed as final sale items at the time of purchase.
You agree to pay a 25% restocking fee on all returns, which we will deduct from any refund owing to you.
After the above referenced 30-day period, unfortunately we cannot offer you a refund or exchange, under any circumstances.
If your return or exchange is approved, we will provide instructions on shipping your items back to us or the applicable supplier via email.
You agree that you shall be responsible for all return shipping costs and related expenses.
Our shipping cost to you is not refundable.
You are also responsible for ensuring the items are carefully packaged for shipment and that risk of loss or damage during return shipping shall be your sole liability. You may wish to obtain insurance while the returned items are in transit.
Lost or Damaged
If the item is damaged when you receive it, do not sign the proof of delivery, and contact us immediately at support@eSkidsteer.com. If you sign the proof of delivery form, you cannot later claim the item was lost (i.e. not delivered) or damaged on arrival.
If the item is damaged on arrival take photos of the damage with a time stamp.
In the event the item is lost or damaged on arrival, we will assist you with filing a reimbursement claim directly with the applicable supplier or shipping company as applicable. However, you agree that as we are not the direct supplier of the items, it shall be your responsibility to pursue any claims with the applicable supplier in the event your lost or damaged item is not replaced by the supplier or carrier.
