• 2-piece shaft transfers torque to the bit without bending the shaft in off-center drilling — single-piece shafts transmit side loads directly into the gearbox bearings when drilling in non-plumb conditions. The 2-piece design uses a separate inner shaft that can deflect slightly without transmitting that deflection load to the upper bearing — significantly extending bearing service life in real-world off-plumb drilling.
