    Overview

The Digga 25DDT excavator auger drive is a two-speed high-flow unit for 18–30 tonne machines, delivering 24,979 ft-lbs of maximum torque at 3,500 PSI on 20–53 GPM through a 100mm square output shaft. Two speeds make it effectively two drives in one: low speed and high torque for large-diameter holes and hard fracturable rock, high speed and lower torque for smaller diameters, softer soils, and spinning spoil off a large auger. Being a two-speed drive, the 25DDT requires a case drain — the hose is included — and ships with a 10-foot powerlead and two-pin connector, with the operator controller sold separately. Excavator mounts, linkages and hoses are ordered separately to match your machine’s pin dimensions.

Key Features of the Digga 25DDT Auger Drive

    • 24,979 ft-lbs of maximum torque at 3,500 PSI — sized for 18–30T excavators
    • Two-speed operation — low speed / high torque and high speed / low torque from one drive
    • 20–53 GPM operating range — genuine high-flow capability
    • 100mm square output shaft — drives Digga RC10, RC11 and DR11 auger bits
    • Case drain required, hose included — not an extra to source separately
    • 10-foot powerlead with 2-pin connector fitted — controller kits sold separately
    • Compact high-torque Digga-manufactured gearbox — descends into the hole to maximise depth
    • 2-piece shaft design — maximum side load rating without loading the bearings
    • Suits XO40 and XT40 extensions for deep piling and drilling work
    • 5-year gearbox / 3-year motor / lifetime shaft pull-out warranty

Why a Two-Speed Excavator Auger Drive Changes the Job

    • One drive replaces the compromise between torque and speed — a single-speed drive is geared for one or the other. Switching ranges mid-hole means starting in high speed through topsoil and dropping to high torque when the auger finds rock.
    • High speed clears spoil off a large auger far faster — spinning a 36" auger clean at low speed wastes cycle time on every hole, and on a large pier job that compounds across the day.
    • The case drain hose being included is not a small thing — running a two-speed drive without a case drain destroys motor shaft seals, and sourcing the correct hose after delivery is a common cause of a drive sitting idle.
    • Torque is matched to an 18–30T carrier — 24,979 ft-lbs is what a machine of that weight can react against without lifting itself off the tracks.
    • Lifetime shaft pull-out cover at 24,979 ft-lbs — shaft pull-out is the characteristic high-torque failure, and Digga covers it with no time limit.

What Else Do I Need with the 25DDT?

The 25DDT is supplied as a drive unit. Order alongside it: an excavator mount and linkage matched to your machine’s pin dimensions (a 130mm linkage suits SD-series drives; 100mm linkages suit drives 9 through 30), hydraulic hoses and quick disconnects, a two-speed controller kit to operate the speed change from the cab, and RC10, RC11 or DR11 auger bits on the 100mm square hub. XO40 outer and XT40 inner extensions add depth for piling work.

Which Excavators Fit the Digga 25DDT?

Sized for 18–30 tonne excavators, supplied to suit a pin-on excavator mount. Fitment is set by machine weight class and pin dimensions rather than machine brand:

    Fitment factor Requirement
    Machine weight class 18–30T excavator
    Auxiliary hydraulic flow 20–53 GPM
Case drain Required — a third return line to tank; hose supplied with the drive
Electrical supply 12V for the two-speed solenoid via the supplied 10 ft powerlead
Mount Excavator pin mount and linkage, sold separately and selected by pin diameter
    Output interface 100mm square shaft

Pin dimensions must match your machine or coupler. Add your excavator make and model at checkout and we confirm the mount before the order ships — email us at support@eskidsteer.com or use the chat button on your screen with those details. A machine without a case drain return line cannot run this drive without one being plumbed in.

Digga 25DDT Auger Drive Questions, Answered

Why does the 25DDT need a case drain?

Two-speed drives use a hydraulically shifted motor that leaks internal case pressure by design. Without a dedicated low-pressure return to tank, that pressure builds against the motor shaft seal and blows it. Digga includes the case drain hose with the drive, but your excavator must have a case drain return line available.

    Is the two-speed controller included?

No. The drive ships fitted with a 10-foot powerlead and two-pin connector, and the controller kit is ordered separately. Digga offers plug-and-play kits with a rocker switch and cigarette lighter power lead in 10, 20, 40 and 50 foot harness lengths, plus joystick-mounted toggle and floor-mounted foot switch options.

When do I use high speed versus high torque?

Use low speed / high torque for large-diameter augers and hard fracturable rock, where the hole needs turning force more than rotation. Use high speed / low torque for smaller diameters and softer soils, and to spin spoil clear of a large auger on lift-out — that alone saves noticeable time per hole on large piers.

What hydraulic flow does the 25DDT need?

A 20–53 GPM auxiliary circuit. It is a high-flow drive and will not perform on a standard-flow machine.

What auger bits fit the 25DDT?

The 100mm square output shaft takes Digga RC10, RC11 and DR11 bits. RC10 and RC11 are rock/earth combination taper-tooth augers; the DR11 is a dedicated rock auger with rotating carbide bullet teeth for shale, permafrost and hard rock. XO40 and XT40 extensions add drilling depth.

    Are mounts and hoses included?

No. Excavator mounts, linkages, hoses and quick disconnects are ordered separately so the mount matches your machine’s pin dimensions. Send your machine details and they can be specified with the drive.

How does the 25DDT differ from the 25DDS?

The 25DDS is single speed; the 25DDT is two speed. The DDT adds the ability to switch between a high-torque and a high-speed range, which requires the case drain and the electrical control the single-speed drive does not need.

Can the 25DDT install screw anchors?

Digga’s warranty terms distinguish drilling from anchoring. Drives used for anchoring above 12,000 ft-lbs without an Energy Control Valve carry no warranty, so an ECV-equipped anchor drive is the correct tool for that work rather than a drilling drive.

What warranty applies to the 25DDT?

Five years on the gearbox, three years on the motor, and a lifetime shaft pull-out warranty when used for drilling applications and maintained per the operator’s manual.

    Will this fit my machine?

Check three things: it is built for 18–30T excavator; the interface is Excavator pin mount and linkage, sold separately and selected by pin diameter; and it needs 20–53 GPM. Add your machine make and model at checkout and we confirm the fit before the order ships.

    How is shipping calculated?

Shipping is calculated at checkout — add the item to your cart, enter your delivery address, and the shipping charge is shown before you complete your order. Lift gate service is available for residential deliveries and can be selected at checkout.

    How do I order?

Add the item to your cart and check out online — the order page asks for your machine make and model, so there is no need to call ahead. We check the mount against your machine after the order and come back to you if anything needs changing. If you would rather ask first, email support@eskidsteer.com or use the chat button on your screen.

The 25DDT sits between the 20DDT and 30DDT in the Digga two-speed range. Anyone shopping for a high flow auger drive at this size is generally choosing between a single-speed 25DDS and this 2 speed auger drive, and the decision comes down to how much large-diameter work you do. Operators searching for a 25ddt auger or a heavy excavator auger for piling work land here; those running loaders instead want the skid steer auger attachment range. Every Digga auger drive shares the same gearbox and warranty philosophy.
