📘 Overview

Haugen's heavy-duty two-stage skid steer snow blower is available in three GPM variants — SB 74-6 (16-20 GPM), SB 74-8 (20-24 GPM), and SB 74-9 (24-31 GPM) — all on a 74" clearing width. Features: no shear pins, 4-blade fan, 5/16" auger flighting (heaviest in its class), #60 roller chain, bolt-on replaceable cutting edge, adjustable skid shoes, and 4-bolt greaseable bearing housings. Optional Bobcat 7-pin wiring harness for electric chute control. Universal Quick Attach. Made in USA with a 1-year warranty.

⚙️ Key Features

  • 74" clearing width — all models
  • SB 74-6: 16-20 GPM | SB 74-8: 20-24 GPM | SB 74-9: 24-31 GPM
  • No shear pins
  • 4-blade impeller fan
  • 5/16" auger flighting — among heaviest in industry
  • #60 roller chain drive
  • Bolt-on replaceable cutting edge
  • Adjustable and replaceable skid shoes
  • 4-bolt greaseable bearing housings at each auger end
  • Optional Bobcat 7-pin wiring harness (WR-006) | Universal QA | Made in USA | 1-year warranty

🔑 Benefits

  • Three GPM variants allow precise matching to your machine's aux flow — running an undersized motor starves the fan; running an oversized motor wastes flow and generates heat. Selecting the correct variant for your machine's actual aux GPM maximizes clearing efficiency and protects the hydraulic system.
  • No shear pins eliminates mid-route downtime — shear pins break when the auger hits buried ice or rock, requiring the operator to stop and replace the pin in cold, wet conditions. Haugen's design eliminates shear pins entirely, allowing continuous operation.
  • 5/16" auger flighting resists deformation from frozen chunks and buried debris — typical light-commercial units use 3/16"-1/4" flighting. At 5/16", the Haugen auger resists bending from impacting frozen debris that would deform thinner flights and require expensive repair.
  • 4-bolt greaseable bearings extend service life in wet, freezing operating conditions — 4-bolt housings are more rigid than 2-bolt configurations, reducing flex under heavy auger loads in the contaminated, sub-freezing environment of commercial snow clearing.

🔗 Attachment Compatibility

Match GPM variant to your machine's actual aux hydraulic flow. WR-006 harness required for in-cab electric chute control on Bobcat machines with 7-pin connector. For other machine brands, contact Haugen at 877-580-6218 for wiring harness options.

🚜 Machine Compatibility

Compatible with SSQA skid steers at the appropriate GPM. Wiring harness option WR-006 for Bobcat 7-pin electric chute control:

Bobcat Caterpillar John Deere Case
New Holland Kubota Takeuchi Gehl

Requires 1 aux circuit at rated GPM. Check your machine's aux flow spec before ordering.

❓ FAQs

Q: Which GPM model should I order?

Check your skid steer spec sheet for "auxiliary hydraulic flow" in GPM — this is the figure that drives the snow blower motor. SB 74-6: 16-20 GPM (most standard-flow compact skid steers). SB 74-8: 20-24 GPM (mid-range). SB 74-9: 24-31 GPM (upper standard flow). If your machine exceeds 31 GPM aux, contact Haugen at 877-580-6218.

Q: What does no shear pins mean?

Standard snow blower drives use shear pins that break when the auger strikes a hard object (rock, curb, frozen chunk), requiring a field pin replacement. Haugen's design uses a different overload protection mechanism that does not require field pin replacement, allowing continuous commercial operation without downtime.

Q: Is the wiring harness required?

The WR-006 harness is only needed for electric chute direction control from the cab. Without it, chute direction is set manually outside the cab. For commercial routes where frequent chute changes are needed, the electric chute is strongly recommended.

Q: What is the clearing width?

74 inches on all three models.

Q: Can this be used going in reverse?

Yes — the auger moves snow toward the impeller regardless of travel direction. Both forward passes and reverse passes are productive clearing movements.
