The Haugen Skeleton Grapple Bucket is a heavy-duty skid steer grapple bucket with open tine structure for rock and debris handling — available in dual cylinder (MSRG 72/78/84, 950–1,050 lbs) and single cylinder (MSRGS 72/78/84, 925–975 lbs) configurations in 72", 78", and 84" widths. The dual cylinder MSRG uses independent-acting cylinders that apply force simultaneously on both sides for superior clamping on uneven or asymmetric loads. The 3/8" thick tines with 3" spacing and serrated front edge dig through rock and debris effectively while sifting smaller material through. Removable side plates, greasable zinc-coated pins, protected hose routing with cylinder guards, and 90-degree couplers included. Universal Quick Attach. Made in the USA with a 1-year warranty.

The Haugen MSRG/MSRGS Skeleton Grapple Bucket uses the Universal Quick Attach System. The MSRG 84 at 1,050 lbs and MSRGS 84 at approximately 1,000 lbs are heavy — verify your machine's rated attachment capacity before selecting the larger widths. Both models require one auxiliary hydraulic circuit with 90-degree flat-face couplers (included).
Compatible with skid steer loaders and compact track loaders equipped with a Universal Quick Attach system, including:
| Bobcat | Caterpillar | John Deere | Case |
| New Holland | Takeuchi | Kubota | Gehl |
Compatibility is determined by mount type, not brand — confirm your machine's quick attach configuration before ordering.

Q: Should I choose the dual cylinder (MSRG) or single cylinder (MSRGS)?
Choose the dual cylinder MSRG if you regularly handle uneven, irregular, or asymmetric loads — rocks of varying sizes, demolition debris, mixed brush and rock — where independent cylinder action ensures both grapple clams grip simultaneously regardless of load shape. Choose the MSRGS (single cylinder) for more uniform loads where the single clam with bolt-on teeth is sufficient and the slightly lower weight matters. |
|
Q: What width should I choose — 72", 78", or 84"?
Choose based on your machine's lift capacity and typical job width. The 72" at 925–950 lbs is the lightest and suits compact to mid-size skid steers. The 78" balances capacity and coverage. The 84" at 1,000–1,050 lbs requires a larger machine with adequate lift capacity — verify your machine's rated attachment weight before ordering the larger sizes. |
|
Q: What does "independent acting" dual cylinders mean?
Independent acting means each of the two hydraulic cylinders operates separately. When the operator closes the grapple, both clams close simultaneously under hydraulic pressure regardless of what each side is contacting. This prevents a situation where one side closes against an empty space while the other is blocked by a large rock — both sides continue applying clamping force independently. |
|
Q: Can the side plates be removed in the field?
Yes — the removable side plates are designed to be taken off and reattached without specialized tools, making it practical to adjust for different job types on the same day. Open side configuration is useful for long logs, pipe, and wide material piles where fixed side plates would block the load. |
|
Q: What hydraulic requirements does this attachment need?
Both MSRG and MSRGS require a single auxiliary hydraulic circuit. 90-degree flat-face couplers are included with the attachment. Verify your machine has a sufficient auxiliary hydraulic flow rate to operate the grapple cylinders effectively — contact eSkidSteer at 866-757-8337 for specific flow requirements if needed. |
|
Q: Is this attachment made in the USA?
Yes — all Haugen Attachments products are made in the USA. The Skeleton Grapple Bucket is made with quality American steel and manufactured in Casselton, North Dakota with a 1-year manufacturer warranty. |
