    📘 Overview

The EZ Spot UR Rock & Pole Claw (EZ-0006) is a skid steer rock grapple that closes hard on rock, broken concrete, poles and pipe — the loads that roll out of a bucket and are too heavy or too irregular to sling by hand. Rated to lift 1,000 lb on its own, the Rock & Pole Claw mounts on a 2.94" square shaft through a 3" square receiver and swaps between EZ Spot UR bases by pulling a single 3/4" pin. Two choices decide what you order. First the base: no base at all if you already run one, a Fixed Non-Rotating Base, or a Double Cylinder Rotating Base that swings the tool head through 127 degrees to the operator’s left. Second the boom — none, 4, 6 or 8 feet — and this is the choice that changes what the Rock & Pole Claw can pick up, because reach is bought with capacity: 1,000 lb with no boom down to 500 lb at full 8-foot extension. It runs on 20–30 GPM at 3,000 psi through ¾" flush-face couplings.

⚙ Key Features of the Rock & Pole Claw

    • Reach into the hole instead of over it — 4, 6 and 8 foot booms put the jaw down into a trench or footing where the machine itself cannot get close enough.
    • 127 degrees of rotation on the Double Cylinder Rotating Base, driven by two 2.5" bore cylinders developing 14,726 lb of push each.
    • Single-pin tool changes — the 3/4" pin through the 2.94" shaft releases the tool head, so one base serves every EZ Spot UR attachment with a 3" square receiver.
    • Longer 6" stroke clamp cylinder closes further than the Utility Claw, which is what lets it hold round stock such as pole and pipe securely.
    • Grade 50 steel, core welded throughout the base and tool head.
    • Ships ready to run with hoses, flush-faced couplers, a spring hose mount and a wiring harness.
    • Adaptable beyond skid steers — excavators, wheel loaders, telehandlers and backhoes with a specialty bolt-on mount.

🔑 Why Operators Choose the Rock & Pole Claw

    • Replaces the man on the ground — the Rock & Pole Claw is a one-operator tool, so lifting broken concrete out of a trench no longer needs a second person in the drop zone.
    • Reach is priced honestly — the published capacity chart means you size the boom to the load before you buy, instead of discovering the limit on site.
    • One base, many tools — if you already own an EZ Spot UR base, order the Rock & Pole Claw without one and keep the 3/4" pin doing the work.
    • 9,425 lb of clamp force from a single 6"-stroke cylinder holds irregular loads that a bucket cannot.
    • Low hydraulic demand — 20–30 GPM suits a standard-flow skid steer; no high-flow machine required.

🔄 Rock & Pole Claw Boom Length and Rated Capacity

Every boom length reduces the rated capacity of the Rock & Pole Claw. Choose the shortest boom that reaches your work.

Boom length Rated weight capacity Boom mass
    No boom 1,000 lb
    4 ft 800 lb 79 lb
    6 ft 600 lb 103 lb
    8 ft 500 lb 128 lb

Rated capacity is measured with the claw on the end of the boom. Your working limit is also bounded by your machine: maximum capacity equals the machine’s rated operating capacity minus the weight of the attachment. Never exceed the rated capacity of the attachment.

📋 Configuring Your Rock & Pole Claw

Two selections decide how far the Rock & Pole Claw reaches and how much it holds:

    • Attachment BaseNo Attachment Base ships the tool head alone for operators who already run an EZ Spot UR base, replacing a worn head or adding a second head to an existing base; Fixed Non-Rotating Base has no moving parts to maintain and lets the tool head be manually indexed 90 degrees for horizontal or vertical work; Double Cylinder Rotating Base adds powered 127-degree rotation to the operator’s left.
    • Boom LengthNo Optional Boom keeps the full 1,000 lb rating; 4' Boom Included holds 800 lb; 6' Boom Included holds 600 lb; 8' Boom Included gives the longest reach at 500 lb.

🔗 Bases and Booms That Fit the Rock & Pole Claw

The Rock & Pole Claw carries a 3" square female receiver, which is the same interface used across the EZ Spot UR range. That means the tool head fits the Fixed Non-Rotating Base and the Double Cylinder Rotating Base sold on this site, and a base bought today will still accept a different EZ Spot UR tool head bought later.

The 4, 6 and 8 foot booms are interchangeable between the Rock & Pole Claw and the Utility Claw (EZ-0005), so a boom is not stranded if you add the second claw later.

🚜 Which Machines Take This Rock Grapple?

The Rock & Pole Claw attaches to skid steer loaders and compact track loaders equipped with a Universal Quick Attach (SSQA) system, including:

    BobcatCaterpillarJohn DeereCaseNew HollandTakeuchiKubotaGehl

The machine must supply 20–30 GPM at 3,000 psi through an auxiliary circuit, connected with ¾" flush-face couplings. No case drain is required. Sizing is set by your machine’s rated operating capacity: subtract the weight of the Rock & Pole Claw and any base and boom you select, and the remainder is what you can safely lift.

The Rock & Pole Claw can also be adapted to excavators, wheel loaders, telehandlers and backhoes using a specialty bolt-on mount in place of the quick attach plate.

Compatibility is determined by mount type, not brand — confirm your machine’s quick attach configuration and auxiliary hydraulic flow before ordering. Everything needed to confirm fitment is on this page — add it to your cart to check delivered pricing for your address.

Freight note: inspect the crate before signing the carrier’s Bill of Lading. Note any damage on the delivery paperwork at the time of delivery — that record is what supports a carrier claim.

❓ Rock & Pole Claw Questions, Answered

Which boom length should I order with the Rock & Pole Claw?

Match the boom to the heaviest load you handle, not the longest reach you can imagine. The Rock & Pole Claw is rated at 1,000 lb with no boom, 800 lb on the 4-foot boom, 600 lb on the 6-foot and 500 lb on the 8-foot. Reach is bought with capacity, so the shortest boom that reaches the work is the right one.

Do I need a base to use the Rock & Pole Claw?

Yes. The Rock & Pole Claw is a tool head with a 3" square female receiver and it must sit on a base. Order the No Attachment Base option only if you already own an EZ Spot UR Fixed Non-Rotating Base or Double Cylinder Rotating Base — the tool head will slide onto either and pin with the 3/4" pin.

What is the difference between the fixed base and the rotating base?

The Double Cylinder Rotating Base uses two 2.5" bore cylinders to power the tool head through 127 degrees to the operator’s left, which is what lets you set a pole upright or place a rock precisely. The Fixed Non-Rotating Base does not rotate under power, has no moving parts to maintain, and allows the tool head to be manually indexed 90 degrees so the attachment can be run horizontally or vertically.

What hydraulic flow does the Rock & Pole Claw need?

The Rock & Pole Claw runs on 20–30 GPM at 3,000 psi through a standard auxiliary circuit, connected with ¾" flush-face couplings rated to a 15 ksi burst pressure. Pressure drop through the attachment is 262 psi. A high-flow machine is not required and no case drain line is needed.

Can I move the Rock & Pole Claw between two machines?

Yes. The base attaches with a Universal Quick Attach plate, so any skid steer or compact track loader with an SSQA coupler and 20–30 GPM of auxiliary flow will run it. For excavators, wheel loaders, telehandlers and backhoes, a specialty bolt-on mount replaces the quick attach plate.

Will a boom bought for the Rock & Pole Claw fit the Utility Claw?

Yes. The 4, 6 and 8 foot booms are common to both the Rock & Pole Claw (EZ-0006) and the Utility Claw (EZ-0005), so a boom is not stranded if you add the other claw to your fleet later.

How is the Rock & Pole Claw shipped?

Shipping is calculated at checkout — add the Rock & Pole Claw to your cart, enter your delivery address, and the freight charge is displayed before you complete the order. Lift gate service is available for residential deliveries and can be selected at checkout.

What comes in the box with the Rock & Pole Claw?

The Rock & Pole Claw ships complete with hydraulic hoses, flush-faced couplers, a spring hose mount and a wiring harness. The attachment base and boom are supplied only if you select them above; if anything is unclear about your configuration, email support@eskidsteer.com or message us on chat.
