Here's a Genius idea. Why not allow people with Caterpillar attachments to run them on their John Deere Skid Steer Loader? This adapter does just that. Just plug one end into your John Deere Loader and plug the other into your attachment equipped with a 14 pin connector. Turn on your machine and get to work. This is another Genius product – smart solutions at great value.
Note: John Deere 14 Pin outputs 6 switched ports. You will notice that this adapter has 7 pins installed. Up/Down, Left/Right and right stick Up/Down are all that is available. We do not provide the extra power port on pin K. If you need this, please let us know and we can build it.
Note: Cat 14 Pin outputs 6 switched ports if ordered. You will need to check to be sure that you have buttons to operate this adapter. We cannot be held responsible if your machine was not ordered with any controls. You will notice that this adapter has 8 pins installed: Up/Down, Left/Right and right stick Up/Down, Ground and +12 Volts. We do provide the extra power port on pin K on this adapter. 2025 adapters have the K to P pin installed for dedicated switched power on the new 255/265 machines. There is a hidden jumper included inside the female connector with shrink tubing over the pin. Cut off the shrink tubing and you can insert the jumper into K or N to turn on your High Flow hydraulics in your CAT machine.
If you plan on moving a lot of pins on your attachment, please note that we supply free single use tools. If you want something more, please click below for the commercial version of these tools.
Both ends of this product are built to factory pin specifications with original factory parts. We cannot guarantee that your machine was ordered with all of the factory controls, nor can we guarantee that your attachment is pinned accordingly as well. This is especially evident with auction attachments or second hand items bought on the internet. We include tools and instructions on moving pins to make everything align.
This adapter lets you run Caterpillar 14-pin attachments on a John Deere skid steer loader. One end plugs into your John Deere machine, the other into your Cat-style 14-pin attachment, so you can connect and start working without rewiring the harnesses.
The adapter is designed for John Deere skid steers equipped with a 14-pin output and Cat attachments that use a 14-pin connector. It assumes the machine has factory-installed attachment control buttons and the attachment is pinned to Cat 14-pin standards.
On the John Deere side, there are 6 switched ports available (up/down, left/right, and right stick up/down). On the Cat side, the adapter provides the matching switched functions so your attachment can use multiple hydraulic or electrical functions, depending on how it is pinned.
On the John Deere side, the adapter does not provide an extra power port on pin K by default. On the Cat side, the adapter provides power on pin K, and newer versions include a K to P jumper for dedicated switched power on certain newer machines. If you need a special pin K configuration from the John Deere side, it can be custom-built on request.
Yes. A hidden jumper is included inside the female connector with shrink tubing over the pin. By removing the shrink tubing and inserting the jumper into the K or N position on the Cat side, you can turn on high flow hydraulics on compatible Cat machines when the controls are present.
The adapter is built to factory pin specifications, but it cannot add controls that the machine was not ordered with. If your John Deere does not have the necessary buttons or switches, you may not be able to access all functions of the adapter or the attachment.
Some second-hand or auction attachments may not be pinned to the original Cat 14-pin standard. The adapter will match factory pinouts, but if your attachment wiring has been changed, you may need to move pins to match the correct layout using the supplied tool and instructions.
The adapter includes single-use tools and instructions to help you move pins when necessary. For frequent repinning or heavy shop use, a commercial-duty Deutsch pin tool is recommended for faster and easier work.
No. Both ends are built to factory pin specifications using OEM-style components. When installed correctly and used on compatible equipment, the adapter is designed to operate safely without damaging your machine or attachment systems.
