📘 Overview

Haugen's land plane skid steer attachment is available in two styles: MLP (Without Mesh) — replaceable 5/8"×8" bolt-on cutting edges front and rear, optional scarifier — and HLP (With Mesh) — heavy-duty mesh carries material to low spots, 3/4" weld-on cutting edges. Widths: 72", 78", 84". No hydraulics required. Universal Quick Attach. Made in USA with a 1-year warranty.

⚙️ Key Features

  • MLP: bolt-on 5/8"×8" cutting edges front and rear | optional scarifier
  • HLP: heavy-duty mesh + 3/4" weld-on cutting edges
  • Widths: 72", 78", 84"
  • No hydraulics required
  • Universal QA | Made in USA | 1-year warranty

🔑 Benefits

  • Dual cutting edges (MLP front and rear) grade effectively on both forward and reverse passes — the MLP has a bolt-on cutting edge on both the leading and trailing edge, so the blade cuts and redistributes material on forward push and reverse drag passes, doubling productive grading time per lane width.
  • HLP mesh carries fine material to low spots rather than pushing it aside — the mesh section passes small particles while retaining material that fills low spots as the machine travels, producing a more uniform grade in a single pass than a solid pan.
  • Optional scarifier breaks summer hardpan before leveling in one attachment — available on MLP models, the optional scarifier rips compacted crust ahead of the blade, allowing the leveling action to work on broken rather than intact hardpan without a separate attachment change.
  • No hydraulics allows use on any skid steer regardless of aux circuit availability — height is set by the loader arms; no aux circuit needed, making it compatible with any machine.

❓ FAQs

Q: Should I choose MLP (Without Mesh) or HLP (With Mesh)?

MLP Without Mesh: best for driveway and road grading where you want dual cutting edges (front and rear) for bidirectional grading and the option to add a scarifier for compacted surfaces. HLP With Mesh: best for fine grading and material redistribution on softer ground where the mesh's ability to carry fine material and fill low spots provides better single-pass results than a solid pan.

Q: What is the optional scarifier for?

The optional scarifier on MLP models has replaceable teeth that rip the compacted surface crust before the blade passes. On summer-hardened gravel driveways, caliche, or hard-packed roads, the scarifier breaks the crust so the blade can grade effectively. Without it, a hardened surface can deflect the blade rather than being leveled.

Q: Does the land plane require hydraulics?

No — it is a purely mechanical attachment. The loader arms raise and lower to set blade height. No aux hydraulic circuit is needed.

Q: What is the difference between HLP 72 and MLP 78/84?

HLP models have mesh and weld-on cutting edges — they are available in 72", 78", and 84" and are designed for fine material redistribution. MLP models have bolt-on edges (no mesh) and the scarifier option — they are available in 78" and 84" and are designed for driveway and roadbed grading with bidirectional cutting edges.

Q: Can I use the land plane on gravel driveways?

Yes — gravel driveway maintenance is the primary use case for both MLP and HLP series. The MLP scarifier option is particularly useful on gravel driveways that develop a hard summer crust. Multiple passes at different blade heights are typically used to achieve a smooth finished grade.
