The Star Industries Heavy Duty Spreader Bar extends your forklift's ability to lift long, unwieldy loads — structural beams, rebar bundles, roofing sheets, pipe, and dimensional lumber. The 1140 (6', 10,000 lb) and 1149 (7', 34,000 lb) are fixed-length models; the 1150C (8'-12', 8,000–5,000 lb at extension) is adjustable. The 1140-24CC fits smaller carriages (32" wide minimum). All models slip onto standard forks and are OSHA and ANSI compliant. Fork pockets accept forks up to 7" wide × 3" thick. 5-year factory guarantee. USA since 1981.

Slip-on-forks for straight-mast and extendable-reach forklifts. Fork pockets accept forks up to 7" wide × 3" thick. Confirm carriage width meets the minimum for the selected model (32" for 1140-24CC; 38" for 1150C; 48" for 1140/1149). Must use safety chain around fork carriage before lifting.
Compatible with forklifts and telehandlers — slides onto standard fork tines:
| Toyota | Crown | Hyster | Yale |
| Cat | Clark | JLG | SkyTrak |
Confirm carriage width meets model minimum. Use safety chain. Never exceed rated capacity at working span.

Q: What is the difference between the 1140 and 1140-24CC?
The 1140 uses 39" center-to-center fork pocket spacing and requires a 48"+ wide carriage — standard for most full-size forklifts. The 1140-24CC uses 24" center-to-center spacing and requires only a 32"+ carriage, enabling use on compact forklifts that cannot accommodate the wider 39" OC version. Both are 6' length with 10,000 lb capacity. |
|
Q: When should I choose the 1150C adjustable vs the fixed-length 1140/1149?
Choose the 1150C (8'-12') when your lifting applications vary in load length — the adjustable design handles a range of material lengths from a single bar. Choose fixed-length models (1140 at 6' or 1149 at 7') when your loads are consistently one length and you want a simpler, lower-maintenance bar without the adjusting mechanism. |
|
Q: Can I use the spreader bar with a telehandler?
Yes — all Star Industries spreader bars use slip-on-forks design compatible with both straight-mast and extendable-reach forklifts including telehandlers. Confirm the telehandler's fork carriage width meets the model minimum and that the telehandler's rated capacity at the required height and radius exceeds the bar's rated capacity. |
|
Q: What loads are spreader bars designed for?
Structural steel beams, rebar bundles, roofing sheets, plywood and OSB sheets, long pipe, dimensional lumber bundles, and similar long linear loads. Any load where standard fork placement would cause bending or requires two pick points to maintain load geometry during lifting. |
|
Q: Is rigging included?
Fork pockets and lifting hardware are integrated — the bar slips onto the forks and is secured with the forks' existing retention. Spreader bar models do not include sling attachments for use as below-the-hook crane lifters. Use appropriate rigging per Star Industries instructions. |
