The Haugen MCP is a carriage-mounted forklift carpet pole attachment that mounts directly to the telehandler or forklift carriage plate — no fork tines required — in Class 2 or Class 3 carriage configurations. Available in 2.5" and 3.0" diameters across four lengths (6', 9', 10'6", 12'), yielding 16 SKUs. Poles are stress-relieved, held in the carrier by set screws, with bolt-on replaceable clips and heavy-duty back plates. Rounded tips on all models. Capacity ratings match the MUCP fork-mounted series (same pole material); the carriage mount provides a more rigid, stable connection than fork-slot mounting and is the preferred choice for high-cycle carpet handling operations. Made in USA.

The MCP mounts directly to the telehandler or forklift carriage plate. Class 2 is for machines with a standard/smaller carriage; Class 3 is for larger/heavier carriage plates. Contact Haugen at 877-580-6218 to confirm your machine's carriage class before ordering.
Fits telehandlers and forklifts with standard fork tines. Standard fork pocket: 3-1/2" x 7-1/2". Compatible with major brands:
| JLG | Genie | Manitou | Skytrak |
| Caterpillar | John Deere |
Specify your machine make and model when ordering. Compatibility determined by fork tine dimensions and quick attach system.

Q: What is the difference between Class 2 and Class 3?
Class 2 and Class 3 refer to the carriage plate mount size — specifically the dimensions of the back plate that attaches to your telehandler or forklift carriage. Class 2 is the smaller/lighter carriage plate specification; Class 3 is larger and heavier. The pole lengths, diameters, and capacity ratings are identical between both classes. Choose the class that matches your machine's carriage specifications. Contact Haugen at 877-580-6218 if you're unsure which class fits your machine. |
|
Q: Why choose carriage-mounted (MCP) over fork-slot (MFCP/MUCP)?
Carriage-mounted poles bolt directly to the machine carriage for a rigid, non-flex connection. Fork-slot poles rest on fork tines and have inherent play at the tine tip. For high-cycle commercial carpet operations where poles are in use for hours daily, the rigid carriage mount reduces fatigue on the pole mounting bracket, eliminates tine tip wear from the fork slot bracket, and provides more stable load control — particularly at longer lengths (10'6" and 12') where pole deflection under load is most significant. |
|
Q: What does "replaceable pole held by set screws" mean?
The pole tube is a separate component from the carriage mount hardware. It is secured in the mount by set screws — tightened hex bolts that bear against the pole. When a pole is damaged, worn, or needs replacement, you loosen the set screws, slide out the old pole, and slide in a new one. You replace only the pole, not the entire mount. This is a significant cost and downtime advantage over welded or integrated designs. |
|
Q: What are the bolt-on replaceable clips for?
The clips are the part of the mount assembly that closes around the back of the pole to hold it in position against the carriage plate. They are the highest-wear point on the mount. When they wear, you unbolt and replace just the clips without removing the entire unit from the machine or sending it for welding. This minimizes service downtime on high-use commercial equipment. |
|
Q: How do I calculate whether my carpet roll is within the capacity rating?
For a roll near the pole tip: use the Pole Tip Capacity. For a roll placed at the center of the pole: use the Half-Pole Length Capacity. For a roll whose weight is distributed along the pole: multiply its length by the Per-Foot Capacity (PLF). If any of these calculations exceed the listed rating, use a shorter pole or larger diameter. |
