The Haugen fork mounted swivel hook (MFSH) is a forklift lifting hook that slips onto your existing tines and turns a fork carriage into a lifting point, with no coupler change and no hydraulics. Five models from 6,000 to 14,000 lbs, in standard or wide fork pocket spacing. The hook swivels, so a load can be turned into position rather than fought with.
Standard pocket size is 3-1/2" x 7-1/2", and the hook is held at 24" on centre — which is why your existing load chart normally still applies.

🔧 Standard or Wide Frame — Measure Your Tine Spacing
The only thing separating the standard and wide models is how far apart your fork tines sit. Standard frames accept spacing from 14.50" to 30.00". Wide frames take 20.00" to 36.00".
Measure your tine spacing before choosing. If it falls between 20" and 30" either frame works and the standard is the lighter, cheaper option. Below 20", only the standard fits; above 30", only the wide.
Capacity and frame width are independent choices — the 10,000 lb hook comes in both.
📐 Why You Don't Need a New Load Chart
Every Haugen fork-mounted swivel hook holds the hook at 24" on centre — the same load centre forklifts are normally rated at. Because the hook sits where the machine's chart already assumes the load sits, your existing forklift load chart normally still applies, less the empty weight of the attachment, the rigging and the load itself. A separate down-rated load chart should not be needed.
That is a practical difference from a jib or a work platform, both of which move the load away from the carriage and require a down-rated chart from the machine manufacturer before use.
The hook's own rating is not the machine's rating. Total load must never exceed whichever is lower, and remember telehandler capacity falls as the boom extends.
⚠ Operating Rules — From Haugen's Manual
- Vertical lifting only. Never use it to pull or drag a load.
- Disable the carriage's hydraulic tilt and swing functions before lifting, and position the tines so the hook holds the load centred on the machine.
- Forks level or slightly rolled back — never tilted forward.
- Safety pins behind the heel of each fork, secured with the cotter pin. Pins are chained to the frame so they cannot be lost. Optional safety chains are an addition to the pins, never a substitute.
- Operator stays seated at the controls with the engine running for as long as a load is on the hook.
- Nobody within ten feet of the fall zone in any direction, and never any part of yourself under a suspended load. Hard hats and steel toe boots for anyone working nearby.
- Level, firm ground before raising. Carry loads low and use tag lines to stop them swinging.
- Never lift people. For personnel, use a certified work platform.
Before each use, check the hook, latch, bolt and sleeve for wear or distortion, look for cracked or broken welds, check the holes for elongation, and confirm the capacity and empty-weight decals are present and legible.
❓ Forklift Lifting Hook FAQs
Do I need a new load chart to use a forklift lifting hook?
Normally no. The hook is held at 24" on centre, which is the load centre forklifts are rated at, so your existing chart applies less the weight of the attachment, the rigging and the load. That is the practical advantage over a jib, which moves the load out and does require a down-rated chart.
Standard or wide frame?
Measure the spacing between your fork tines. Standard covers 14.50" to 30.00", wide covers 20.00" to 36.00". In the overlap either works, and the standard frame is lighter.
Which capacity should I order?
The heaviest load you will lift, plus rigging — then check your machine can handle it at the reach and height you work at. The hook rating and the machine rating are separate limits and the lower one governs. Weight difference across the range is only 10 lbs, so there is little penalty in choosing up.
Does the hook actually swivel under load?
It rotates so a suspended load can be turned to face where you need it, rather than repositioning the whole machine. Check the bolt and sleeve for wear or distortion before each use, since that is the joint doing the work.
Can I lift people with it?
No. It is for material only. Lifting personnel requires a certified work platform designed for that purpose.
What certification does it carry?

What is the empty weight of each MFSH model?
137 lbs for the MFSH-6, 142 lbs for the MFSH-10 and 147 lbs for the MFSH-14 on standard frames; 155 lbs for the MFSH-10W and 160 lbs for the MFSH-14W on wide frames.
What maintenance does a fork mounted swivel hook need?
Check the hook, latch, bolt and sleeve before every use, looking for wear or distortion at the swivel joint. Confirm the retainer pins are secured with cotter pins, inspect for cracked or broken welds, check the holes for elongation, and make sure the capacity decal is legible.
Are safety chains required as well as the pins?
Optional safety chains may be used in addition to the safety retainer pins, never in place of them. The pins are chained to the frame so they cannot be mislaid.

Can I ship to multiple addresses?

Returns
Returns
We offer returns and exchanges in limited circumstances as follows:
- In order to submit a return, you must contact us by email at support@eSkidsteer.com for us to confirm the items ordered are eligible for return or exchange;
- To be eligible for a return, you must commence the return process within 30 days of your item being delivered to you and:
- it must be unused, for example, once an item is hooked up to an attachment plate, hydraulic lines or electrical connection, it will not be eligible for return. Likewise, if your item shows any sign of use, which we may determine in our sole and absolute discretion, we will not accept the return;
- it must be in the same condition you received it in. You will be required to send us timestamped photos of the condition of your items as a condition to determine your eligibility for the return or exchange; and
- it must be returned in the same packaging or containers as it was received in.
We do not accept returns for products that were listed as final sale items at the time of purchase.
You agree to pay a 25% restocking fee on all returns, which we will deduct from any refund owing to you.
After the above referenced 30-day period, unfortunately we cannot offer you a refund or exchange, under any circumstances.
If your return or exchange is approved, we will provide instructions on shipping your items back to us or the applicable supplier via email.
You agree that you shall be responsible for all return shipping costs and related expenses.
Our shipping cost to you is not refundable.
You are also responsible for ensuring the items are carefully packaged for shipment and that risk of loss or damage during return shipping shall be your sole liability. You may wish to obtain insurance while the returned items are in transit.
Lost or Damaged
If the item is damaged when you receive it, do not sign the proof of delivery, and contact us immediately at support@eSkidsteer.com. If you sign the proof of delivery form, you cannot later claim the item was lost (i.e. not delivered) or damaged on arrival.
If the item is damaged on arrival take photos of the damage with a time stamp.
In the event the item is lost or damaged on arrival, we will assist you with filing a reimbursement claim directly with the applicable supplier or shipping company as applicable. However, you agree that as we are not the direct supplier of the items, it shall be your responsibility to pursue any claims with the applicable supplier in the event your lost or damaged item is not replaced by the supplier or carrier.
