    📘 Overview

This Roadrunner skid steer box grader is the Economy Series (E-Series): the same dual-blade, side-panel box design as the C-Series, without hydraulics, at the lowest price in the Roadrunner grader range. Material is caught between the front and rear blades and held inside tall side walls, so loose stone is carried forward and released into low spots — the reason a skid steer box blade of this design fills potholes, removes washboarding and leaves a finished surface on a gravel road in one or two passes rather than an afternoon of chasing ruts. It is shorter than the C-Series at 60" long, which is why it turns tightly in yards, around buildings and in confined lots. You make one choice: blade width — 72", 84" or 96" — and it should be wider than your machine so the tires or tracks stay on ground the grader has already smoothed. Every size ships on a Universal Skid Steer Quick Attach plate, needs no auxiliary hydraulic circuit at all, and carries Roadrunner's 36-month warranty. It is welded and powder coated in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

⚙ How the E-Series Box Blade Is Built

    • Dual blade configuration with side pans — two cutting blades and enclosed sides give the box its carrying action, so material is moved into low spots instead of pushed aside.
    • Large side walls to limit windrows — the taller pans keep loose stone inside the grading area, which is why the E-Series leaves a clean edge rather than a berm along the shoulder.
    • Replaceable AR400 wear shoes — hardened skid bars carry the box and set the cut; they are the sacrificial component and bolt off for replacement.
    • Heavy-duty square tube frame — Roadrunner uses thicker, high-strength steel than typical imported economy box blades.
    • Two-stage zinc primer with powder coat — not spray paint. This is the finish difference that shows up after two seasons of wet stone and road salt.
    • No hydraulics to plumb — the E-Series runs on machines with no auxiliary circuit, and there are no hoses, couplers or cylinders to leak or service.
    • Compact 60" length — half a foot shorter than the C-Series graders, which is what makes it manoeuvrable in tight corners and small lots.
    • 6" blade height, 10-degree blade angle — Roadrunner's published blade geometry, shared with the C-Series.

🔑 Where the E-Series Earns Its Price

    • Lowest cost of entry in the Roadrunner skid steer grader range — the E-Series gives you the box geometry, the AR400 wear shoes and the American build without paying for hydraulic depth control you may never use on a short private drive.
    • Fits machines that have no auxiliary hydraulics — nothing is plumbed in, so an older or base-spec skid steer runs it exactly as well as a new one.
    • Fewer passes on loose material — as a gravel road grader the enclosed box carries soft, freshly tipped stone and spreads it smooth, rather than bulldozing it into a heap ahead of the blade.
    • Turns where a longer grader cannot — at 60" long it works around buildings, in yards and on short lots that a 66" C-Series grader has to shuffle in.
    • Wear parts are consumables, not repairs — the AR400 skid bars are designed to be worn out and swapped, so a season of hard gravel work costs a set of wear shoes rather than a frame.

🔄 E-Series Sizes Side by Side

    Model 72" E-Series 84" E-Series 96" E-Series
    Blade width 72" (6 ft) 84" (7 ft) 96" (8 ft)
    Overall width 76" 88" 100"

    SKU 72" E-Series 84" E-Series 96" E-Series

Overall width is 4" greater than the nominal blade width on every size, because the side pans sit outboard of the cutting edges.

    📋 Choosing an E-Series Width

Blade width is the only choice on the E-Series — there are no hydraulic, cutting edge or mount options, because every unit ships fixed-depth on a Universal Skid Steer Quick Attach plate. Pick the width that clears your machine: the 72" model measures 76" overall and suits compact skid steers and compact track loaders; the 84" measures 88" and is the common choice for mid-size machines maintaining a long gravel drive; the 96" measures 100" and belongs on a full-size loader with the traction to pull a full box of stone. If you want depth control from the cab or a three-point tractor mount instead, those are C-Series features — the hydraulic CH Series and the manual CJ Series both offer them.

🚜 Which Machines Fit the E-Series Box Grader?

Compatible with skid steer loaders and compact track loaders equipped with a Universal Quick Attach (SSQA) system, including:

    BobcatCaterpillarJohn DeereCaseNew HollandTakeuchiKubotaGehl

The E-Series needs no auxiliary hydraulic circuit, no electrical connection and no case drain — it mounts on the quick attach plate and works. Roadrunner does not publish a horsepower or lift capacity limit for the E-Series, so size it by width against your machine: a common sizing rule among grader dealers is to choose an overall width at least 12" greater than the machine's tire or track width. Compatibility is determined by mount type, not brand — confirm your machine's quick attach configuration before ordering. Everything needed to confirm fitment is on this page — add the grader to your cart to see delivered pricing for your address.

Before you sign for delivery: inspect the crate and the grader with the driver and note any damage on the Bill of Lading before signing. A signed clean Bill of Lading makes a freight damage claim very difficult to win. Photograph anything that looks wrong and email the photos to support@eskidsteer.com.

❓ E-Series Box Grader Questions, Answered

What is the difference between the E-Series and the C-Series graders?

The Roadrunner E-Series is the economy box grader: fixed depth, no hydraulics, skid steer quick attach only, and a shorter 60" frame. The C-Series adds depth adjustment — manual T-handle screw adjusters on the CJ Series, or a cab-controlled hydraulic cylinder on the CH Series — plus independent left-right control for cutting a road crown, a serrated cutting edge option, a bolster wheel kit and a Category 1 & 2 three-point mount. If you only need to smooth and maintain a gravel surface, the E-Series does that job.

Does the E-Series box grader need auxiliary hydraulics?

No. The Roadrunner E-Series has no cylinders, hoses or couplers and requires no auxiliary hydraulic circuit on the machine. It mounts on the Universal Skid Steer Quick Attach plate and is ready to work, which makes it a straightforward fit for older or base-specification skid steers.

Which E-Series width should I buy?

Choose the E-Series width that is wider than your machine so the tires or tracks run on ground the grader has already finished: the 72" model is 76" overall, the 84" is 88" and the 96" is 100". A common sizing rule among grader dealers is to allow at least 12" more overall width than the machine's tire or track width. Wider blades also demand more traction, so the 96" suits a full-size loader.

Is this the right skid steer attachment for gravel driveway maintenance?

For routine work, yes — a box grader for skid steer use is the tool that resurfaces a drive rather than just pushing material off it. The Roadrunner E-Series cuts the high spots, carries that material inside its side pans and releases it into the low spots, so one or two passes leave a graded surface. If you also need to cut a crown so water sheds to both shoulders, that requires independent left-right depth control, which is a C-Series feature rather than an E-Series one.

Will this driveway grader fix a washboarded gravel drive?

Yes — that is the job it is designed around. The E-Series traps material between two blades and its side pans, cuts the ridges off the washboard, carries that material forward and drops it into the troughs. Roadrunner's own description names pothole filling, washboard removal and spreading loose material in minimal passes as the E-Series use case. Pack the surface afterwards, or the ripples return.

Can I fit the E-Series to a tractor three-point hitch?

No. The E-Series is supplied on a Universal Skid Steer Quick Attach plate only, and no three-point option is offered for it. Roadrunner's Category 1 & 2 three-point attachment kit is a C-Series accessory, so a tractor buyer should look at the manual CJ Series or the hydraulic CH Series, both of which offer a three-point mount or the Combo that carries both interfaces.

Are the wear parts on the E-Series replaceable?

Yes. The E-Series runs replaceable AR400 hardened wear shoes, which are the sacrificial parts that carry the box and set the cut height. They bolt off and are replaced as consumables, so the powder-coated square tube frame outlasts several sets.

What does the Roadrunner warranty cover on the E-Series?

Roadrunner Equipment warrants the E-Series against defects in workmanship or materials for 36 months from the date of sale, lease or rental. Normal wear items are excluded, which for this grader means the cutting edges and the AR400 skid shoes. Damage from misuse, improper setup or unapproved modification is also outside the warranty.

How does the E-Series ship, and what should I check on delivery?

Shipping is calculated at checkout — add the grader to your cart, enter your delivery address, and the freight charge is shown before you complete the order. Roadrunner graders ship LTL freight on a pallet because of their width and weight, and lift gate service can be selected at checkout for residential deliveries without a loading dock.
