📘 Overview
The Haugen hydraulic post driver (Dakota) is a skid steer post driver that drives wood and steel posts without pre-drilling. Two models: the PD-1600 at 877 ft-lbs taking posts to 7.125", and the PD-1850 at 945 ft-lbs taking posts to 8.250". Both include a plumb bob chain, depth gauge and post puller chain, a 3/4" thick frame, and hoses and couplers.
Comes standard with a dome head tool. Flat head, concrete chisel, moil point and spike tools are available, as are tilt and planetary auger drive options.

🔨 Blows Per Minute or Force Per Blow?
The two models trade one against the other, and it is the real difference between them.
- PD-1600 — faster, lighter blows. 500 to 900 per minute at 877 ft-lbs. More strikes in the same time suits softer ground and smaller posts, where you want the post walking down steadily.
- PD-1850 — slower, harder blows. 400 to 800 per minute at 945 ft-lbs, with a larger 3" tool. Fewer, heavier strikes are what get through hard or stony ground and drive the bigger posts it accepts.
Post diameter also separates them — 7.125" against 8.250". If you drive large corner or gate posts, the 1850 is the one that takes them.
🔗 The Post Puller Chain
Both models include a post puller chain, which makes this a two-way tool: it drives new posts and pulls unwanted ones. On a fence replacement job that removes the need for a second attachment or a lot of digging.
The plumb bob chain and depth gauge address the other two things that go wrong when driving posts — posts going in out of plumb, and inconsistent depth along a run.

- Dome head comes standard — 7.125" on the 1600, 8.25" on the 1850, with 4.50" dome tools also available for both.
- Flat head, concrete chisel and moil point tools are available, which turn the driver into a breaker for concrete and rock work.
- 1-3/4" x 48" rock spike for starting holes in stony ground.
- Tilt option fits both models and requires a wire harness.
- Planetary auger drive converts the unit for auger work.
Excavator-mount versions of both drivers are available — the mount is a separate item.
🚜 Skid Steer Compatibility
Universal skid steer quick attach with hoses and couplers included. An auxiliary hydraulic circuit is required.
1,150 and 1,325 lbs empty. These are heavy attachments and the driving action puts repeated impact through the machine, so a larger-frame skid steer suits them better than a compact one.

Which post driver skid steer model — PD-1600 or PD-1850?
The 1600 delivers 877 ft-lbs at 500–900 blows per minute and takes posts to 7.125". The 1850 delivers 945 ft-lbs at 400–800 blows and takes posts to 8.250". Faster lighter blows suit softer ground and smaller posts; slower heavier blows suit hard ground and larger posts.
Do I need to pre-drill?
No. Both drive wood and steel posts directly. The rock spike option is available for starting in genuinely stony ground.
Can it pull posts as well?
Yes — a post puller chain is included with both models, so the same attachment removes old posts and drives new ones.
What tools are available?
A dome head tool comes standard. Flat head, concrete chisel, moil point and a 48" rock spike are available, along with 4.50" dome tools. The chisel and moil point turn the driver into a breaker for concrete work.
What are the plumb bob chain and depth gauge for?
Keeping posts vertical and driving them to consistent depth along a run — the two things that most often go wrong on a fence line.

We do not take orders on the phone for security reasons. To place an order, go to a product page, select the desired quantity of the item, and add it to your cart via the “Add to Cart” button. During checkout, you just need to enter or confirm your shipping address and credit card information, then you can place your order

Failure to Accept Products on Delivery
If you reject delivery of goods ordered from us, or otherwise fail to accept delivery of the goods, you agree to pay for all related and additional shipping fees, duties, taxes, restocking fees and other charges arising from such failure to accept delivery. After such failure to accept delivery of the goods, it shall be your responsibility to pay for and arrange a new shipping date.

Can I ship to multiple addresses?

Wrong Address:
Please review and ensure that you have entered the correct address. We are not responsible for non-delivery due to errors in the address that you provide. If an order is returned due to an incorrect address, we will refund the original order (excluding the shipping fee) and ask that you re-submit your order.
Change of Address:

Returns
Returns
We offer returns and exchanges in limited circumstances as follows:
- In order to submit a return, you must contact us by email at support@eSkidsteer.com for us to confirm the items ordered are eligible for return or exchange;
- To be eligible for a return, you must commence the return process within 30 days of your item being delivered to you and:
- it must be unused, for example, once an item is hooked up to an attachment plate, hydraulic lines or electrical connection, it will not be eligible for return. Likewise, if your item shows any sign of use, which we may determine in our sole and absolute discretion, we will not accept the return;
- it must be in the same condition you received it in. You will be required to send us timestamped photos of the condition of your items as a condition to determine your eligibility for the return or exchange; and
- it must be returned in the same packaging or containers as it was received in.
We do not accept returns for products that were listed as final sale items at the time of purchase.
You agree to pay a 25% restocking fee on all returns, which we will deduct from any refund owing to you.
After the above referenced 30-day period, unfortunately we cannot offer you a refund or exchange, under any circumstances.
If your return or exchange is approved, we will provide instructions on shipping your items back to us or the applicable supplier via email.
You agree that you shall be responsible for all return shipping costs and related expenses.
Our shipping cost to you is not refundable.
You are also responsible for ensuring the items are carefully packaged for shipment and that risk of loss or damage during return shipping shall be your sole liability. You may wish to obtain insurance while the returned items are in transit.
Lost or Damaged
If the item is damaged when you receive it, do not sign the proof of delivery, and contact us immediately at support@eSkidsteer.com. If you sign the proof of delivery form, you cannot later claim the item was lost (i.e. not delivered) or damaged on arrival.
If the item is damaged on arrival take photos of the damage with a time stamp.
In the event the item is lost or damaged on arrival, we will assist you with filing a reimbursement claim directly with the applicable supplier or shipping company as applicable. However, you agree that as we are not the direct supplier of the items, it shall be your responsibility to pursue any claims with the applicable supplier in the event your lost or damaged item is not replaced by the supplier or carrier.
