Couldn't load pickup availability
The Star Industries Crane Spreader Bars (1142, 1177A, 1150A) are below-the-hook multi-point lifting devices for crane operations. They distribute load across two or more pick points, preventing bending damage to long structural members and controlling load geometry during lift. 5-year factory guarantee. USA since 1981.

Q: What is the difference between 1142, 1177A, and 1150A?
Contact Star Industries 1-800-541-1797 for the specific span lengths, capacities, and configurations of each model to select the right bar for your application. |
|
Q: How does a spreader bar prevent load damage?
A single-point crane lift on a long structural member (beam, panel, pipe) applies the full load at the pick point, causing the material to bend under its own weight. A spreader bar creates two pick points separated by the bar length, distributing the lift over the load length and maintaining the material's profile during the lift. |
|
Q: What rigging is required?
Appropriately rated slings, shackles, and hardware attached from the crane hook to the spreader bar, and from the spreader bar ends down to the load. All rigging must be rated above the load weight. Star Industries spreader bars do not include rigging. |
|
Q: Is there a load chart for each model?
Contact Star Industries 1-800-541-1797 or download the operator manual for rated capacity at each pick point span for your selected model. |
|
Q: Are these OSHA compliant?
Star Industries spreader bars are designed to comply with ASME B30.20 below-the-hook lifting device standards. Confirm compliance documentation with Star Industries for your specific regulatory requirements. |
