The Haugen MASPR/MASPRX Adjustable Fork Mounted Spreader Bar is a lifting spreader bar rated at 10,000 lbs center position, available in three length ranges (8'–12', 10'–15', 13'–20') in two configurations — the MASPR (standard, two 5-ton swivel hooks) and the MASPRX (with top shackles for crane use). All six models use standard 3-1/2" x 7-1/2" fork pockets held at a 24" load center, with retaining pins chained to the bar. The Spreader Bar is certified by a third-party Professional Engineer and meets ANSI/ITSDF B56.6 and CSA B335 standards. Weights range from 510 lbs (MASPR 812) to 995 lbs (MASPRX 1320). Made in the USA with a 1-year warranty.

The MASPR/MASPRX series uses a fork slot mounting system — insert fork tines fully into the 3-1/2" x 7-1/2" pockets until the retaining pin ears extend behind the forks, then install the chained retaining pins. The 24" load center aligns with standard forklift/telehandler load chart references — no separate down-rated load chart is required. The MASPRX models additionally include top shackles for use with overhead cranes or hoists.
Designed for telehandlers, rough terrain forklifts, and standard forklifts with fork carriage. Standard fork pocket size 3-1/2" x 7-1/2". Compatible with:
| JLG | Genie | Manitou | Skytrak |
| Caterpillar | John Deere |
Compatibility is determined by fork pocket size and host machine capacity — verify your machine's rated capacity before use. Never exceed the capacity of the attachment or the host machine.

Q: What is the difference between the MASPR and MASPRX models?
The MASPR (standard) models include two 5-ton swivel hooks at the bottom of the bar and a pin retention system — they are designed exclusively for fork-mounted lifting from a telehandler or forklift. The MASPRX (X) models add two 5-ton shackles at the top plate, allowing the same bar to be rigged to an overhead crane or hoist in addition to fork mounting. Choose MASPRX if you need crane compatibility or expect to use the bar with both a telehandler and an overhead crane on the same job. |
|
Q: How does the capacity change with spread distance?
The center position (single hook load) is rated at 10,000 lbs for all models. As the spread increases, the capacity at each outside hook decreases: at 65.38" spread — 5,000 lbs per hook; at 97.88" — 4,000 lbs per hook; at 121.88" — 3,500 lbs per hook; at 145.88" — 3,000 lbs per hook. Always use the load chart decal on the spreader bar to verify capacity for the specific spread position in use. |
|
Q: Do I need a down-rated load chart for my telehandler when using this spreader bar?
Because the spreader bar's lift points are located at the standard 24" load center, the telehandler's or forklift's standard load chart normally applies — a separate down-rated load chart is not typically required. However, you must include the empty weight of the spreader bar and all rigging hardware when calculating the total load against your machine's rated capacity at the relevant height and reach position. |
|
Q: Can I use only one outside hook?
No — never use only one side hook. The load must be secured to the center only, or to both outside hooks equally, or to all three hooks if the optional third center hook is installed. Side-loading the spreader bar is prohibited and creates dangerous off-center stress on the bar and the host machine. |
|
Q: What size should I choose — 8'–12', 10'–15', or 13'–20'?
Choose based on the width of the load you need to lift. The 8'–12' suits most standard-size structural panels, precast sections, and equipment. The 10'–15' handles wider loads. The 13'–20' is for very wide structural members, large prefab wall sections, or equipment with widely separated lift points. Note that the heavier models (MASPR 1320 at 857 lbs, MASPRX 1320 at 995 lbs) count against your machine's capacity at the load center. |
|
Q: Is this attachment PE certified and does it meet OSHA requirements?
Yes — the MASPR/MASPRX Adjustable Spreader Bar design has been reviewed and certified by a third-party Professional Engineering firm. All models meet ANSI/ITSDF B56.6 and CSA B335 standards. A copy of the engineering certification is available upon request from Haugen Attachments at 877-580-6218. |
